Anyone Know How To Fix This?

Recommended Posts

I recently have recieved a replacement product to my last one that had a problem.

Anyway, I bought another HX90 from MinisForum.

While I was putting the RAM in, the ribbon cold that connected to the front ports, power, USB 2, USB-C, came off.

See the black ribbon cable? It's supposed to go into the white header on the motherboard. I can't find any release points, and the cable will not smugly fit into it..

Can anyone else help?

Assuming it is just one of those standard flat cable connectors that you flip up and down a locking mechanism (or it has tabs that you push in)...or you broke off the locking mechanism.

Image is too damn small.

Edit:

Yea, using this video on YouTube ... you flip up the black bar to release and push down to secure the cable.

OK, I get what you're saying, but apparently, I don't see the black part to it.. Unless it slipped off or something..

Look around the room. The black piece has to be there somewhere. Then try putting it back on. I had one come off, and after a bunch of attempts, I got it back on. I wonder if it's a standard size and if you can buy a replacement.

out of curiosity what did you take that photos with 🤣

I don't know if I can find anything online to fix it.

I used my phone to take those 2 pictures. :)

Edit: I did look around the area, but couldn't find it.. I'll try to look harder..

Update: OK, it's not working now.. :(

Yer that's fecked now, no easy recovery from that bodge job, the whole connector needs replacing, maybe take it to someone with good desoldering equipment and skills.
