New system - Addressable RGB Fans

Recommended Posts

Hi, just built a new system and I've never dealt with RGB before, let alone addressable RGB...

So the system has 4 ARGB fans, and they can all daisy-chain to one ARGB header on the motherboard, so that's what I've done.  As such, they all perform the same pattern as the same time.

If I  were to plug them individually into the different ARGB headers, would I be able to control each individually and get more impressive effects?

And if so - I have only 3 ARGB headers, but 4 fans - is there something like a hub that could split them without simply daisy chaining, so each fan is independently addressable?

Thank you!

What case do you have? Some include a hub where you can attach several fans to it.

Like so:

It does not let you control every fan, but you can configure the entire group.

IMO, RGB looks a little weird when each fan is a different color. Look at our "Show us your PC" thread on here. That will give you an idea. ;)

Yeah, mine doesn't - but I assume I can buy such a thing.  From what I understand, you can apply effects that make use of each fan individually to create an overall pattern.

Hello,

First off, let me qualify this by saying I don't use any ARGB peripherals.  The few things I have with RGB on them like video cards are performing in whatever mode they shipped with.

That said, I wonder if it would be possible to install multiple ARGB hubs, and then apply the lighting effects you want on a per-hub basis.

You would probably want to check with the respective fan and hub manufacturers to see if this is possible, though, before making any investment.
