hagjohn
Well, I spent the extra bucks and bought a Crucial T700 PCIe Gen5 NVMe SSD, even though I had the INLAND TD510 Gen5 and wow, you can tell the difference. The benchmarks are what they say for both but the T700 feels so much faster. So, if you have Gen5 PCIe system, get the Crucial T700 MVMe SSD with the heatsink, because you will need it. It is worth every penny. They both run pretty hot, so make sure you get one with a good heatsink. hellowalkman Reporter Posted July 13, 2023 Reporter Share Posted July 13, 2023 Interesting! Are you sure it's not placebo? Are the randoms on the T700 significantly better? can you post images of a stressful benchmark session on both drives? Just make sure your motherboard heatsinks for SSD are good enough. https://www.digitaltrends.com/computing/pcie-5-ssd-shurdown-phison-e26/ A wide range of new SSDs are facing overheating issues when pushed to their limits, thereby resulting in thermal shutdowns. The malfunction is specific to PCIe 5.0 SSDs based on the Phison PS5026-E26 controller inside. If you don’t have a proper cooling solution in place, you could be in for a world of trouble. bikeman25
Well my motherboard doesn't have Heatsink included with the M.2 Slot, but mine is only PCiE Gen 3, so hopefully doesn't run too hot.
