bikeman25
Not Sure if USB Power related errors, or errors with drive itself, but it said that when i plugged in WD Red My Passport to 2nd port on USB 3.0 Hub. Seagate drive is 1TB Portable External, purchased on 8/4/2023 from Amazon.com, delivered today Should i do a full format on the drive, and then try making a backup copy of the files i wanted to Older VHS to Mp4 captures that i wanna save to this External as extra copy, and store the WD My Passport One Off site to keep it safe as can be, as these shows i can't replace as they no longer air on Television at all and Some CD Ripped Music trying to backup as well with this drive, and hopefully it error free after this
Mindovermaster Global Moderator Posted August 8, 2023 Global Moderator Share Posted August 8, 2023 Mayber I'm reading this wrong, but.. The WD Red My Passport is showing WHAT error? From what I understand, you never said what error it gets. And your new Seagate drive, is it just fine, or, why would you need to reformat it? I'm conbfuzzled.. i_was_here
Run an extended or long SMART test on your drive. There are manufacturer specific tools such as Seagate SeaTools but you can also try a third-party utility like PassMark DiskCheckup. goretsky 1 Share
