Are you guys talking about the width of the individual task program buttons in the taskbar or?

I've added "MinWidth" in the registry for that.

in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\WindowMetrics add a StringValue called "MinWidth". I have mine set to -3500, but setting it around -250 or something will make it really narrow. You have to at least logout (maybe reboot) to see the effect of it though.

one thing thats so messed up about Windows is having the start button default to the lower left.

studies have shown that the average person's cursor spends the majority of its time in the upper right ~ i kid you not

i used to keep my start bar on the right to accomodate this, but for the last 6 months or so, i've kept it on top with Tclock2's "start menu from clock" option activated
