SwankyPimp
I love the second one. Very thin, but yet effective. How well do the taskbar flashes work with it?? I'd give that theme a try, god knows I need all the desktop space I can get. Windows X
For theme, it's recoloured Reluna for personal use. You can get it from bant's thread. For taskbar, just resize it as low as you can. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/143339-compact-taskbar/#findComment-1762875 Share on other sites

carpediem
Are you guys talking about the width of the individual task program buttons in the taskbar or? I've added "MinWidth" in the registry for that. in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\WindowMetrics add a StringValue called "MinWidth". I have mine set to -3500, but setting it around -250 or something will make it really narrow. You have to at least logout (maybe reboot) to see the effect of it though. Mine looks like this: Edited February 24, 2004 by carpediem Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/143339-compact-taskbar/#findComment-1767385 Share on other sites

bkellner
TClock2 does that. It's the "Task Switch Icons Only" option. I also enabled the flat start menu, tasks, and tray. Though I don't normally do that :p Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/143339-compact-taskbar/#findComment-1768126 Share on other sites

kb1
one thing thats so messed up about Windows is having the start button default to the lower left. studies have shown that the average person's cursor spends the majority of its time in the upper right ~ i kid you not i used to keep my start bar on the right to accomodate this, but for the last 6 months or so, i've kept it on top with Tclock2's "start menu from clock" option activated Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/143339-compact-taskbar/#findComment-1771326 Share on other sites
bkellner
This just in: Users too lazy to move cursor from upper right to lower left to hit Start Button. really now, it's not that far. even at 1600x1200 resolution.
