[NFL]Trade Rumor

Recommended Posts

Portis is a product of the Denver system, and Champ Bailey is thought of by most wide recievers as the number 1 lockdown corner in football, denver needs defense if they plan on going anywhere

then they can trade anderson easily, he is a capable runner, but portis is even more capable and mature in its game

well the thing is, if portis decides to holdout, then denver would be in trouble because there would be nothing that they could do. might as well get someone valuable in return. apparently denver is shopping portis too so if he doesn't goto washington, he could goto another team.

But does Portis know something others don't? Apparently he considers his departure from Denver a certainty.

"It was enjoyable playing with the Broncos," Portis told radio station KKFN-AM in an interview Monday night. "If this is the end of my stay, I had a great time."

CB's are a unique odity.  RB's come and go.  They can be drafted in the 6th round for crying out loud.  In my opinion Washington loses with this trade.

no way. he is an elite back already. you think of running backs in washington lately.

the last good one imo was byner. i mean. we NEED a running back in washington. i think portis will explode and have a career season if he comes over. the line will be beefed up and with a decent qb (either brunell/ramsey) it could open up the passing game too.

it should be fun if we see #26 runnin down the field in a skins uni.

also... about finding a runningback or a corner. champ has made his displeasure known amongst the organization. by putting the franchise tag on him and letting him go for portis, who was going to holdout with the broncos most likely anyways, the skins are actually getting the better end of this deal imo. champ is a good player, and he may have a career season also if he leaves, but i think portis is more valuable. we need a running game.

spurrier was just too much of a ###### to get it working.

Looks like it might be a done deal, according to this..

The Redskins and Broncos have agreed in principle to a trade that would send Portis to Washington in exchange for Pro Bowl cornerback Champ Bailey. The Redskins would also throw in a second-round draft pick to get the third-year running back, who rushed for 1,591 yards last season.

Though the teams are still negotiating contract terms, the trade is expected to be officially announced next week, ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli reports.

Champ Bailey is one of the most overrated CBs in the history of the game. Washington is the gunman on the grassy knoll in this trade. Unbelievable.

Congrats, Tox....now....if my Boys can get Drew Henson from the Texans (he's in for a workout this week) :)
