+Matthew S. Subscriber² Posted March 26 Subscriber² Share Posted March 26 Hey, so I'm looking at doing a new build since the current system is getting a little long in the tooth and wanted an opinion of this build. I do a lot of flight simming in MSFS (though not recently), dabble in a bit of UE dev, and a few other things. While I'm not opposed to going team green for the graphics card I still default to selected AMD over Nvidia due to past experiences going green https://newegg.io/e6264b5 Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/1439711-need-an-opinion/ Share on other sites
Mindovermaster Global Moderator Posted March 26 Global Moderator Share Posted March 26 You really need that 1500W, though? Seems a little overkill. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/1439711-need-an-opinion/#findComment-598891421 Share on other sites
+Matthew S. Subscriber² Posted March 27 Author Subscriber² Share Posted March 27 Probably not, but I do usually go with 1000W, may not need it now but I'd rather not have to re-cable in the future either Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/1439711-need-an-opinion/#findComment-598891505 Share on other sites

Yeah, the 5800x3d is good. Not the latest, but it works well. It's darn cheap, too.. The other reason I'm going with a 20 core is I also do development and spin up a lot of VM's for testing. Steven P. Administrators Posted March 27 Administrators Share Posted March 27 If you want to be energy efficient, don't get the Radeon 7900 XTX, get the cheaper (but more powerful) 4080 SUPER which will also give you better RTX performance. This is my system https://tweakers.net/gallery/902085/inventaris/?inv_id=3266976 I did the unthinkable and put the 4080 SUPER in my AMD 7950X3D system and the 7900 XTX in my i7-14700K system 😛 Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/1439711-need-an-opinion/#findComment-598891613 Share on other sites
