One cricketer who stands out for having started with seemingly little potential but went on to become one of the best is Steve Smith of Australia. who  began his international career as a leg-spinner who could bat a bit. now he has some great records 

He became the fastest player in history to reach 7,000 runs in Test cricket.

He has consistently been at or near the top of the ICC Test batting rankings.

His batting average in Test cricket has been compared to legends like Don Bradman.

Do you Think there's another player who started with little potential but became one of the best?
