What Is The Best RGB Color?

Recommended Posts

I have RGB lights on my fan lights, in my room. But I never really thought about RGB colors. I always use white light varients. As in brightness and Color Temp.

What is best, all around? Blue, Purple, Yellow, Green, Red?

I tried a setting that turns different colors, and I never liked it.

Been in restaurants that have bars, but never sat in one. Maybe when I was young, idk. My dad isn't a heavy drinker.

Reason I asked above, is because I have color-blindness, it's hard for me to see different colors. My worst is blue/purple, or varients of it as Cobalt or Lapis. yellow and bright green looks the same, too. Red and brown are slightly hard to differ. Not impossible, but hard.

I wish I could but my mom needs light if she needs something out of the closet. Why she can't just use a flashlight is beyond me.

Hard to believe if you are from Wisconsin.  Doesn't Wisconsin deport you if you don't go to bars or drink?

I've never seen big boys throwing out my house.

I never had beer. Closest I got was a little wine, and beer bread..

There is no "best" colour. That's why everyone has their favourite colour, and why RGB works well - everyone can chose their favourite colour, or a colour according to how they feel.

When I had LED strips I preferred the blue range of colour. Overnight I would have a low level red set in case I woke in the middle of the night and needed to turn them on.

But with my smartbulb I keep it to auto-match according to the time of day. Brighter during the day, warmer in the evening.

Color has an energy, as much as people think it's zen or whatever, but the greens are more peaceful, the blues are more open, and it's directly correlated to nature.  Which is why Red is often associated with danger or stop or bad.

So for peaceful tranquility I tend to lean toward the blues and greens or neutrals.

Great topic!  I remember in Andromeda Strain (Michael Crichton) he even talked about the color of the different levels of the environment they were working in, and studies done on color and impact for the workers.

As I said I'm colorblind, so I'm not sure if a shade would make you more calm or hatred. My roon is a lighter shade of blue.

Will RGB look good with my wall? That's where I get iffy..

Unfortunately I'm not going to be much use with that question without a photo. My experience is with white walls, so the colour from the LEDs is whatever I set. I don't know if a red light on a blue wall would create a purple-ish hue on the wall...
