Windows 11 ignoring deferred Patch Tuesday via Windows Update now?

Recommended Posts

Honestly tired of Microsoft's poor quality patches and updates, and now it seems options I have set are just plain ignored anyway? 😒

I shutdown my PC, carefully choosing the Shutdown option, and not one of the shutdown and update ones, to build in a Thunderbolt 4 card and when powering up, the multi reboot Patch Tuesday update got applied. Checked settings, and yes I did have it set on Pause for 1 week.

New Thunderbolt 4 ports :D (ASRock X670E Steel Legend).

Not for me, I have a couple of machines at home (10 and 11) configured to defer quality updates for 3 days and none of them got yesterday's yet; manually checking for updates doesn't get them to show up for now either.

Neither of the machines is enrolled in the Insider program, in case that were a factor, and one is Pro, the other Education.

Hello,

Could the 1 week pause have come to an end before the patch was applied?

No because Patch Tuesday was on August 13.

When did you enable the "Pause updates for 1 week" setting?

In May when I installed Windows 11 clean, it worked last month. I installed PT after a week and a half.
