kiddingguy
I have a Kensington VeriMark Fingerprint Key scanner on my notebook. I bought it in april 2021. Since a couple of weeks it doesn't recognize my fingerprint in all occasions and I have to use my passcode. Kinda annoying. Is this one out of support for Windows 11? Is there an update that messed up this working? Or is the Fingerprint Key scanner broken/not working anymore? The latest drivers are installed. And also removing, and re-adding, this from Device Manager didn't work. Might it be time for a new one? (e.g. Kensington VeriMark™ Guard USB-A Fingerprint Security Key, K64708WW? .... or are there better alternatives as fingerprint scanner?) goretsky Supervisor Posted August 27 Supervisor Share Posted August 27 Hello, Can you try plugging it into a different computer, just to see if it is recognized on that device? +thexfile Subscriber² Posted August 27 Subscriber² Share Posted August 27 I have a Kensington VeriMark USB-A desktop fingerprint reader (SKU: K62330WW). It costs more but I think it's worth it. You have to have a direct to the USB-A plug-in, you can't use a hub with it. kiddingguy
I deleted once again everything from Device Manager. And rebooted everything. Seems to work (for) now. The Kensington VeriMark Guard USB-A Fingerprint Security Key is apparently "web-only". And not Windows Hello. I don't like the cable that comes with it. goretsky 1 Share Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/1445430-kensington-verimark-fingerprint-key-broken-not-supported-anymore/#findComment-598927275 Share on other sites
