+Matthew S. Subscriber² Posted August 28 Subscriber² Share Posted August 28 Hey Guys and Gals, Looking for a bit of help since my 3d skills are lacking. Would someone be able to help me convert the following from Thingiverse to either a blender or fusion model. I'm looking to use this for an Arduino/Pico project, will need to hollow it out and add mounting posts. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5337939 Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/1445510-looking-for-some-help-with-converting-an-stl-to-model/ Share on other sites

satukoro
I'm not sure you'd have any luck with that task. I've tried to import an stl file into solidworks before on a couple occasions and it basically has to reverse engineer the part. One of the problems with this is that you end up with a very messy, very bloated project file and the conversion for even simple parts takes a long time and significant resources. You would be better off remodeling the part from scratch or reaching out to the author and asking for the project file. If i have time later I'll take a look and see if it wouldnt be too hard to recreate in OnShape (free web based cad).
