How to install Windows 11 24H2 RTM on unsupported PC?

I wouldn't bother with Windows 11 on these types of hardware.  There are quite a few problems with it. I am running windows 10 on my old pc.

Can you provide a single example of a single problem caused by running 24H2 on unsupported hardware?

The machine runs slower than if it was 10.

I am aware that there are unscrupulous ways to obtain Extended Security Updates (ESU) without paying, but I am not going there.

I was not referring to those unscrupulous methods.  I was referring to methods like the topic here in this thread.

Actually there is another way.

Windows 10 will get five extra years of support courtesy of 0patch

Turn off visualization-based security (VBS).

Problem solved.

It’s still slower. VBS is only part of it. Unless you only believe paid Microsoft reports.

I presume that you will post cherry-picked tasks showing Windows 11 24H2 is slower by ~ 0.5%.

Nope. I don’t care enough to discuss what started as a tongue in cheek comment further. You would do well to read more than what supports your own bias though.

You do you, it doesn’t affect me in any way.

Because Windows 10 will be out of support in 1 year and the hardware I have is still perfectly fine. I would actually give linux a go, if only the screenconnect client for linux wasn't garbage.

Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021 (which is '21H2') is a easy way to dodge the Oct 2025 end-of-support date since it's supported until Jan 2032. so 7 years and 3 months left. as a bonus... no Microsoft Store junk in it and a nice clean start menu. it's what the regular version of Windows 10 should have been.

p.s. it's what I use on a virtual machine on my main Linux machine for that occasion I use Windows.

Is there a special key you have to get? Like for home or pro. Or can you use any home or pro key and it will work.

It requires a Windows Enterprise Volume License agreement and we are NOT going to discuss unscrupulous ways to get it without such an agreement.

@Mockingbird ; no need for the Thumbs Down as it's simply a viable option for a random person to dodge Windows 11 for at least some odd years ;)

Do you expect a "random person" to get a Windows Enterprise Volume License agreement?

@Mockingbird ; lets just say it's potentially useful for some around here at the least who prefer to avoid the hassle of using Windows 11 on unsupported hardware etc.

Are you promoting abusing software licensing agreements?

@Mockingbird ; I am just simply cutting through the BS to practical solutions for those who would rather avoid the hassle of using Windows 11 on unsupported hardware etc. I don't worry about the petty stuff. if you don't want to use that and prefer Windows 11, that's fine. but it works.

p.s. I realize as time passes that Windows 10 stuff might become a issue eventually. but it will likely continue to work for the foreseeable future, like say the next few years at a minimum and could be longer. because I suspect it will be a while before software etc starts to not like '21H2' which is basically what that IoT version is based on.

This "petty stuff" is the software license agreement.

You are promoting piracy.

@Mockingbird ; I just posted a ISO name and SHA-256 hash etc is all for people who prefer to use the Jan 2032 supported Windows 10 version.

anyways, ill let you get back to your topic as I figure everyone else already sorted it for you since you clearly prefer the Win11 option and it's your topic ;)

Literally, the first reply was asking how to get a key for it.

Reading between the lines, it's pretty clear what you are promoting.

For which I have no comment ;)

p.s. either way, it's amazing how petty some people are around here who worry about stuff most people would not care about as I don't know about you but Jan 2032 sounds much better than Oct 2025. but like I already mentioned, you are clearly happy with the Windows 11 route. so stick with it.

People around here worry about those "stuff".

If you want to promote piracy, go somewhere else.

Even if true, it would be limited to a small amount. the average user around here I doubt cares much either way. hence, my petty stuff comment.
