rgurr11
Hi, I was referred to this site by a friend. I'm playing Warzone on a PS4 and with the recent updates, I notice a lot of lag. I think it's time for an upgrade. I can go PS5, but seriously, since it's the only thing I play and I'm ready for a new computer anyway, I am looking at what desktop I can get that can handle warzone. I may need a monitor too. I don't need streamer quality and I don't want to break the bank since I really am a casual player. I just know my friends' maps load quicker, they can see more clearly, there is lag when I interact with a supply box or buy stations. It's not the internet because I'm getting good speed. TIA for suggestions! I am not sure if I'm posting in the right forum. If not, please direct me to the correct one. +Eternal Tempest MVC Posted October 2 MVC Share Posted October 2 What type of internet do you have, it's advertised speed, and real speed? Are you looking at pre-built or build your own? I would also look at the PC Requirements - https://support.activision.com/warzone-2/articles/pc-system-requirements-for-warzone-2 Aim for the competitive specs as a baseline and exceed it or look at the 4k sys requirements. Make sure the game is installed / running of a Solid State Drive. Competitive Specifications Quote The competitive specs to run at a high FPS for use with a high refresh monitor: OS: Windows 10 64 Bit (latest update) or Windows 11 64 Bit (latest update)† CPU: Intel Core i7-8700K or AMD Ryzen 7 1800X RAM: 16 GB Hi-Rez Assets Cache: Up to 32 GB Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060Ti or AMD Radeon RX 5700XT Video Memory: 8 GB Ultra 4K Specifications Quote The Ultra specs to run the game at a high FPS in 4K resolution: OS: Windows 10 64 Bit (latest update) or Windows 11 64 Bit (latest update)† CPU: Intel Core i9-9900K or AMD Ryzen 9 3900X RAM: 16 GB Hi-Rez Assets Cache: Up to 64 GB Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 or AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT Video Memory: 10 GB Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/1447003-warzone-gaming-set-up-what-do-i-buy-best-bang-for-my-buck/#findComment-598935586 Share on other sites

I might have misunderstood, but it looks like your network is getting the advertised speeds, just not on the computer. Do you have any hardware information for the computer? Is it connected via WiFi, cable? What are the adapters? hellowalkman 1 Share Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/1447003-warzone-gaming-set-up-what-do-i-buy-best-bang-for-my-buck/#findComment-598935688 Share on other sites
Mindovermaster Global Moderator Posted October 2 Global Moderator Share Posted October 2 How old is your current computer? I think any AMD CPU can blast that out of the water. Did you ever look at Mini-pcs? By companies like Beelink or Minisforum. They won't have any beefy GPUs, but as Eternal Tempest said, they should meet the system requirements. Also, where are you from? There a MicroCenter nearby? I think you have assumed correctly that it's not your internet. A PS4 is very old at this point. The CPU and the GPU are finding it difficult to keep up. Can you tell us what screen resolution and frame rate you are targeting? I assume it's probably 1080p and 60fps but knowing these two details will help us guide you towards a balanced setup. I googled that and tested it - ps4 speed shows 65 mbps at the moment. I'm connected to wifi Here's some info I found on my computer, but I don't know if it's relevant unless this is good enough gaming computer and I should be playing on this rather than ps4. Since you are looking to play CoD mostly you can have a look at the 7700 XT that sells for around $350 from time to time. It's a great card and AMD is typically better in CoD. Pair it up with Ryzen 7600 for around $200, 2x 16GB DDR5-6000 cl 30 memory, and you have got yourself a great gaming setup for under $1000 Mindovermaster 1 Share Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/1447003-warzone-gaming-set-up-what-do-i-buy-best-bang-for-my-buck/#findComment-598935883 Share on other sites
goretsky Supervisor Posted October 6 Supervisor Share Posted October 6 Hello, Just to add to the already existing comments and advice, are you looking at getting a new monitor (or TV), or do you plan on using your existing one? If getting a new one, do you have a particular size in mind?
