This came out of nowhere for me! It looks pretty good based on the trailer and definitely one I'll be checking out.  Always good to see more Dune stuff, even if it's not Herbert's work, and they clearly used Villeneuve's version as a base, which is a great start.

I think it's fine if it's not written by him directly, many of the books and even this are works off of his notes and ideas he left behind.  Maybe I'm not that big of a purist who thinks anything in a series not made by the original creator doesn't count.    I just want adaptations to stay as close as possible to the source and any changes made to make sense.
