Izlude
Looking to have a specific model printer imported, Epson WF-7820DTWF (or WF-7840DTWF if the 20 is not available). Apparently, these versions of the printer are chipless, allowing me to use a continuous ink supply system (ciss). I was going to opt for an ET-15000, however I was put off by the fact it's still a dual chip print head (1 for Black one for CMY), where as the 7820 has 4 chip (1 for each color), faster printing and higher res for my 13x19 prints. Unfortunately, the 7820/40 in the US is chip bound, only way to hack it is to buy these bin files for $300 and use a chip programmer on them (would rather pay for import and be done with it). How might I go about doing this? neufuse Veteran Posted October 18 Veteran Share Posted October 18 If you want to be dangerous you can connect to the printer inside via a jtag port and flash the european firmware on it bypassing the country check it does on firmware upgrades and bingo bango acts the same as the european ones... the hardware is the same, the firmware does the lockouts Izlude 1 Share Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/1447793-where-can-i-buy-a-european-epson-printer-online-and-have-it-shipped-to-the-usa/#findComment-598939805 Share on other sites
