AMD Advantage Gaming Laptop A Few Questions

Recommended Posts

Hello all

considering getting an AMD Advantage Gaming Laptop to replace my Current HP Omen 15_ce019dx I7 7700HQ, 8GB of DDR4 Ram,  Geforce 1050TI 4GB, 128GB Boot M.2 and 1TB HDD storage Drive.

It would be used to run the following games if i do replace it in the near future or at late as Birthday in early 2025

Firefighter Simulator the Squad

Police officer Simulator: Patrol

Lawn Mower Simulator

SecondLife ((occasionally))

American Truck Simulator

Euro Truck Simulator 2

**Some of these games will be uninstalled from Main Desktop and will split the game load between the 2 Systems as i did til Laptop could barely run anything in its current hardware configuration**

*Desktop at Christmas i plan on adding 2nd M.2 to store the Games, possibly 2TB M.2 (First time ever having a 2TB M.2)    Motherboard for Desktop is MSI Pro B650 VC Wifi Rev 1,  i believe from Manual from what i understand will not slow down video card PCie Lane,  at least in the manual it says 0 on that from what i can tell.     My plan right now is replace Boot Kingston NV2 PCie 4.0 1TB M.2 with either Samsung 1TB Boot NVMe, and Game M.2  if another Samsung at least 2TB Drive size.     (I know im giving myself more work than needed), but i'd rather have both drives from Same Manufactuer

Probably when i add the updated M.2 will do my clean install of Windows 11 24H2 then,  did have a Crucial P3 500GB Drive, but didn't install it into newer Desktop as i was like i'd prefer Drive with Dram Cache for Boot and Game M.2,  Thinking of going with Samsung or Western Digital for both M.2, possibly with Heatsink

Specs of the AMD Advantage Laptop considering at this point, working on saving the funds to hopefully have enough by Christmas or at the latest Birthday in February 2025

ASUS TUF Gaming A16 Laptop 16" FHD+ 165Hz 7ms 100% sRGB AMD Octa-core Ryzen 7 7735HS 16GB RAM 512GB SSD Radeon RX 7700S 8GB (>RTX4060) Backlit USB-C USB4

((Specs wouldn't be too far off from Main Desktop 1 if i do end up getting that one))

Of course the storage i'd have to upgrade eventually, and the Ram,  but if its easier to open than this HP Omen, then i can get that done myself in future

Most ASUS laptops are easier to open than other laptops. Might want to up that RAM and SSD later on, yeah.

You should be able to play those games fine.

Awesome!   Gets it ordered as soon as can then in that case

((If i can cut down on Ordering doordashed Taco Bell or Del Taco or Mcdonalds.))   i might be able to save more funds lol.

Just takes determination and time

if i didn't have my severe anxiety issue, i'd work as hard as i could if i was able to
