If people are celebrating them, I’d say they are sick of corruption. We all know what happens when they are sick enough of it, people get ugly. People die. People say terrible things and if it doesn’t resolve itself, possible war. That’s never happened anywhere before, right? As for why people argue, maybe it’s how you are saying it? Maybe in the barbaric wild wild west where loads of people are pushed beyond their limits by corrupt corporations, are packing guns, and quickly resort to them to resolve their problems, but not in the civilised world. We have been molded into a society that roots for the underdog in the absence of true justice. Yep, wars and armed conflict have never happened in the past of other civilized countries. Edit: What I’m getting at is it’s a wonderful and lovely dream that words solve things violence also does, but we all know that since the beginning of time, humanity resorts to violence when words fail. While id like to think we can’t go to war or need to resort to violence, the corruption runs deep enough that the country may need to resort to it before it can heal. Words and courts are failing us. This is the result of a systematic injustice that empowers a for-profit private company to decide who lives and dies. I am not agreeing with the action taken, but I understand why it was taken and agree that it is an insult to the American people we allow these companies to operate in the way they do. +Raze, StrainedSky, adrynalyne and 3 others 6 Share Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/1449646-unitedhealthcare-ceo-shot-dead-outside-manhattan-hilton-hotel-in-%E2%80%98targeted-attack%E2%80%99/page/5/#findComment-598952604 Share on other sites

I find it all abhorrent As I've mentioned before, I don't applaud what happened but I struggle to find sympathy for the situation. What we're seeing is possibly the beginning of America's French Revolution. A wealthy man making profits off other people's suffering gets shot and the people applaud. And now their government is going to be made up of the wealthiest people in the country, striking down decades of work to line their own pockets while the lower classes suffer because of it. I would say that I wouldn't be surprised if the guillotine made a comeback. I would say that I wouldn't be surprised if the guillotine made a comeback. But the Americans have enough guns and ammo to make it unnecessary. This is a strange and ironic take... The US govt is already made up of rich people that line their own pockets. When members of congress have a yearly salary of $175k, but yet their net worth skyrockets into the millions, it's no secret what they're doing. Corporations and the nation's richest have been funneling them money forever. You say that the incoming admin striking down decades of work like it's a bad thing. Clearly the US govt has been corruptly spending (wasting) far too much money and running itself into default, so why should we maintain that path? The lower class has always suffered and the ever increasing inflation and costs of living have hurt them the most and keeps them down. Come election time, the left panders for their votes, gets their votes, and then doesn't help them. Rinse and repeat every 4 years. The system clearly isn't working. The waste needs to be eliminated so that the taxpayers aren't p*ssing away money on things that don't benefit them at all. This is probably the first time that a major govt change will actually benefit not just the rich, but everybody. Inflation will down and taxes can go down if the spending is under control. Everybody should be rooting for that... No there isn't going to be a new Revolution and public executions isn't coming back either. Not sure why you'd even think that... This CEO being killed is just another example of a mentally unstable person that needed help or to be locked away. It's pretty sick that people on the left are celebrating the guy. First they rooted for the terrorists and now they're rooting for murders. And they wonder why they lost the election... +Raze, SecretAgentMan and +JanSolo 3 Share Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/1449646-unitedhealthcare-ceo-shot-dead-outside-manhattan-hilton-hotel-in-%E2%80%98targeted-attack%E2%80%99/page/5/#findComment-598952963 Share on other sites

AI wasn't checking every claim, but even as someone who can code well a 90% error rate is irresponsible and dangerous when people's lives are at stake. The real knife twist was that the United CEO who was murdered knew how bad it was and from what I understand actively pushed against fixing it despite people dying.
