david3941
What do you keep your heat at? I have a Nest thermometer and it is set for 70 when home. and 68 at night. But my energy provider Consumers lower it to 66 at night. What I do like is I can raise/lower it using my smart phone or use my voice using Alexa.😁 Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/1451009-heat/ Share on other sites

Nick H. Supervisor Posted January 22 Supervisor Share Posted January 22 I never understood Fahrenheit, but I tend to keep my heat at 17/18C. If I've been out in the cold for a while I might bump it to 22C for a while, but then it gets uncomfortable so I knock it back down. With that said, I've been told that despite my stature I'm generally running hot so that probably accounts for quite a bit. I always work with the idea that I prefer to be cold than hot - if I'm cold I can add more layers to keep warm. If I'm too hot there are only so many layers that I can remove before the police get called for indecent exposure. +hedleigh 1 Share Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/1451009-heat/#findComment-598960725 Share on other sites
notta
Usually around 64. The low humidity in my house is painful right now. Right before going to bed last night it was showing 18% humidity! That was lowest I've seen. I've usually been around 22% - 28% this winter. Going to need to get something to address this. Mouth is horribly dry in the morning. Dan~
Come to UK where you won’t turn it on because of how darn expensive it is, my house is roughly 11oC in the day and have the heating on at night to 19oC for a couple of hours then it loses 1oC an hour. On the plus my bed is at 28oC (waterbed) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/1451009-heat/#findComment-598960732 Share on other sites
cooky560 Veteran Posted January 22 Veteran Share Posted January 22 It's set to 20c 24/7 but it goes on and off even during heavy winter as the house is pretty well insulated. Mindovermaster Global Moderator Posted January 22 Global Moderator Share Posted January 22 Here in Wisconsin, if it were to me, I'd keep it as 68F during the day and 65F at night. But there's my mom in a way that likes to turn it down to 60 at night.. I keep my thermostat to 70 freedom units or 21c for the winter. Costs for gas and electric run about $125-200/month. How many layers of clothing do you have to wear when inside? I used to have mine set at 69 and still had to wear a sweatshirt inside. I hate that. Turned it up to 70 this year and feel quite comfortable now. Wife is still always freezing but not turning it up higher. Gas bill is averaging about $75 a month. I know I'd get hypothermia setting temp as low as some you have it set at!
