Just because you see 8-9 year olds doesn?t mean there are not older people listening to the stuff as well. Hell I'm almost 30 and I listen to them :shrug: But to each his own as well if you don't like them so be it but at least have the decency to stay out of a thread and not post if that is the case just to start crap. Meshuggah Posted March 31, 2004 Author Share Posted March 31, 2004 You don't have to be a singer to know that someone can't sing. not with Advanced studios, ive heard some TERRIBLE singers end up sounding great with a few pitch-correcting machines (ie, the band Strata) another thing is, since when were LYRICS everything? You just said that you don't like Slipknot because of their messages.... well how about the drummer? dont you think he has just a little bit of talent? or how about the guitarists.... there are those very good musicians that can pick up a guitar and play practically anything in their frist try, but MOST are not... my point is, i dont like hearing someone insult a band by saying "man look how easy their music is" when that person cant even play an instrument.... its one thing to say "hey that music is simple, i can EASILY write something better than that" than it is to just simply say what i said up above I am a musician, have been for over 8 years, i have a few guitars, 1 bass, and a drumset and a trumpet....i will admit i dont know my instruments backwards and forwards, but i can honestly say that i can write.... kids listen to whatever is popular, and most of those little 13 year old kids are copying their bigger brother and sister.... if slipknot was a 5 piece band with no masks, only jim, mick, corey,paul, and joey ....they wouldnt be hated as much as they are, whether you choose to admit it...although i can also safely say they probably wouldnt be one of the biggest mainstream speed/nu metal bands out People either hate them because of their popularity, or their masks, or both, but its rarely actually based on their music another band that that happened to was Mudvayne, and anyone that says they are talentless are idiots as well i believe i read that you are musician yourself, so how would you like it if the whole world gave judgement on you because of superficial things? sometimes, i dont understand our world.......
