blueshirt
Updated DirectX 9.0b installation? And what does Powermenu.reg do?
FlishFun Veteran Posted April 6, 2004 Author Veteran Share Posted April 6, 2004 Updated DirectX 9.0b installation? And what does Powermenu.reg do? I found a new (and better) way to make DX9 install silent. And the Powermenu.reg file is part of the PowerMenu installation. It adds new options to your menu. Not reallys a RegTweak, but is counted as one since it's a Reg File.

Detained
First of all, Hello and thanx for this nice AutoPatch Program. I used it once so far (Jan. Full Update) and was totally thrilled with it. I've browsed the forum a little and the AutoPatcher.com website to see if I could find an answer to my Q's b4 I posted but either I've overlooked it or I'm just an A$$, (my wife would say I'm just an A$$) so here is my Q's, What is the difference between the Full, Lite and UltraLite versions ? I DL'ed the full Jan version so do I need to DL the full version with every release ? And if not how do I get just an Update, like for feb since I don't see a link for just an update, and install it ? I apologize if all my Q's have been covered b4 but right now I'm doing a massive recovery of ALL my HDD's on my "baby" so I'm a little frustrated and aggravated with my system that crashed and left me with 4 unreadable drives............ Again Thanx PeePs for your help and tolerance. Detained

I never used this app before, so I have some questions: :woot: - Should i format my pc before i install this software? - Is it better to install earlier releases, or can i install March right away. (do i miss things if i start with march) that's it, hope you guys can answer this ones!

akaladis Veteran Posted April 13, 2004 Veteran Share Posted April 13, 2004 DKAngel, you don't seem to understand what AutoPatcher is all about. We didn't intend to replace Windows Update. But tell me: 1. If you have 10 computers to install, which is more efficient: a. download the same stuff from WU 10 times b. download them once with AutoPatcher and then apply them to the 10 computers... 2. If tomorrow morning your girlfriend's computer needed a format, but her internet connection was too slow (or she didnt have an Internet connection at all), wouldn't it be convenient for you to have a CD which can update her computer without needing an internet connection? You see, i really dont expect people who only have one computer (and who never do a format) to use AutoPatcher... Initially, AutoPatcher was made with administrators in mind, but it seems to work out for other cases as well (being able to update any computer, be it online or offline). /Raptor
FlishFun Veteran Posted April 13, 2004 Author Veteran Share Posted April 13, 2004 ...but it seems to work out for other cases as well (being able to update any computer, be it online or offline)... Especially if you're an onsite tech and you go to people that have dialup. This turns into a Life Saver. Just ask AgEnTsMiTh. (Y)
