If the Canadian Election was Tomorrow...

The NDP got voted out because of a number of fiascos (fast ferries, Glen Clark taking bribes, etc.)

Personally I don't agree with their style of management (running a deficit and having high taxes to cover massive social spending) but they certainly didn't "ruin" the province.

Next provincial election I'll be voting green party. Socially progressive, fiscally conservative.

It's easy to be fiscally conservative when you have no chance of winning.

I would rather have a single leader who controls everthing, rather than having a Bush controlled puppet (Martin)

Riiight.

And Canada has a history of blindly following this US? This was obvious during our softwood lumber disputes, the Coalition of the Willing in Iraq and other issues?

True, Martin may try to mend some fences with the US given that Chretien's ministers had a habit of referring to Bush as a moron. He's still planning on going ahead with a number of issues that the US objects to (gay marriage, pot possession, etc...)

Besides, if Bush were to have a puppet in Canada, don't you think it would be from the Conversative Party of Canada?

I'm not talking about any other PM, just Martin in general. He has make it very clear he wants to kiss ass with Bush.

I agree. But I can't figure out why he wants to.

I think he wants to "normalize" relations with the US. Chretien positioned himself as being extremely anti-Bush and that hasn't helped any of our causes (i.e. softwood lumber).

"Normal" Canada-US relations does not mean that we do what Bush says.
