How to disable "Shut Down Event Tracker"

Recommended Posts

Click Start >> Run >> Type MMC Select File >> Add/Remove Snap-in... >> Add >> Group Policy Object Editor >> Add >> Click Finish and Close then OK

Navigate through >> Local Computer Policy >> Computer Configuration >> Administrative Templates >> and select the System folder

Double Click Display Shutdown Event Tracker and select Disabled >> Click OK >> File >> and then Exit

Now you won't be asked why you need to reboot or shut down the system, just like in Windows 2000 Professional.

If you used 2003 Server as you should you would notice that is a VERY handy feature.

only if u like having an automated log every time the system restarts

really every admin i know dissables this once they know the servers stable

corse then also secdule regular reboots during hours when nobodys around to be using the server

and jason get off it you know most of us ARENT using it as a server stop trolling

one thing i ment to say b4 next time do a search there have been at least 40 threds about this in the past and they all can tell u how to "fix" this
