How do I change my logo and banner on IPB forum?

I recently set up a IPB message board on my server and I wanted to replace the logo and banner surround the logo. I know that I can upload an image labeled logo4.gif or something along those lines and get the logo replaced but how do I go about changing the banner that surrounds it? Now it is set to the regular blue gradient. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Your gonna have to play around with the templates for a totally custom look. There are a few sites that have ones premade and also with tutorials on how to do it. I'm sure somebody will give you a link, I can't think of any off hand.

take a look at the css style,

change the tile_back.gif

im not sure how it works with IPB as ive only used VB. But as VaLUnTriAn said, you need to edit the template file. Also if you look around you might find a free template that suits your needs, which means you dont really have to edit anything.
