A new version of Visual Studio will be released this week with the first set of major updates since the Visual Studio "Whidbey" Technology Preview release. This release, the "Visual Studio 2005 Community Technology Preview March 2004" release, will be sent to you shortly. Please make sure that your postal address information is up-to-date at the <http://beta.microsoft.com/> web site through the "Modify Your Info" | "Modify Address Info" menu. This release will also be handed out at VSLive! San Francisco and made available for download to MSDN Universal Subscribers at <http://msdn.microsoft.com/subscriptions/downloads/default.asp>.

At this time we will also opening up newsgroup discussions to a wider audience and closing down the restricted microsoft.beta.whidbey.* set of newsgroups. Bug and suggestion reports should still be submitted through the VSWhidbey BetaPlace bug form. All other feedback and requests for assistance should be submitted to the newsgroups listed at <http://msdn.microsoft.com/whidbey/newsgroups>. Visual Studio and .NET Framework development team members will closely monitor these newsgroups and respond to feedback. The Microsoft.beta.whidbey.* newsgroups will be shut down entirely on April 30th.
