'Microsoft Office Online' panel in MS Word

How can I remove the 'Microsoft Office Online' panel in Microsoft Word 2003?

Check the screenshot to see what I mean; removing as in stop it from showing up when creating new documents, etc. (for instance, where can I find in the preferences to remove this? and please don't reply unless you really know the answer.)

Tools->Options->View tab

Uncheck the Startup Taskpane checkbox in top left hand corner

This will disable the task pane

Tools > Options > View > uncheck "Startup Task Pane"

I already do have it unchecked but pane is still there. Can you disable it then open a new document, make sure it doesn't show up? And then enable it, new document and make sure it's there?
