uni Posted March 27, 2004 Share Posted March 27, 2004 comment: don't like the JAP and I agree with Opio plus makes it confusing for some ppl. also some scroll bars are all white making it hard to scroll up and down. for example when chaging wallpapers that scroll bar is all white. whats up with that? if this gets fixed i'll be using it till all the brightness gets on my nervous. As others have stated, "JAP" is a less than ideal combination to use for the caption buttons. The compact start panel could use some reworking as it's not much use without a way to access programs. Not sure if they are supposed to be this way, but the scrollbars are way too think to be usable. Visually, it's stunning. The browns work well and are somewhat typical of Japan in terms of earth colors; however, color is an important aspect of design in Japan and as such I'd expect to see some deep reds or green/blues here and there. To most, the word "Jap" is just as offensive as the word "Jew" ... or even "<< racial epithet >>" to describe people from Latin-America and "<< racial epithet >>" to describe African Americans. You might not be offended by it and that's fine, but it does offend others.
