We're pretty excited about the upcoming version 4.3 of WindowBlinds.

Here are some highlights:

1) Faster performance. We keep finding new ways to get better performance out of it. One of the advantages of continuing development is new things are found that help.

2) Fast skin changing. Wait till you switch around skins. Skins kind of..well morph from one skin to another. Here's a quickie 2 meg video I made http://www.stardock.com/video/april2004/wb43.wmv (bear in mind that I'm switching skins on a laptop that is also running Camstudio that uses 100% of my CPU with lots of windows open).

3) New extensions for the upcoming SkinStudio 4.2 that will make importing msstyles into WindowBlinds even easier. With this combo, you should be able to run both WindowBlinds and MSStyle visual styles without having to patch any of your system files as well as use them on Windows XP, 2000, ME, and 98 and make use of hardware acceleration, colorization, etc.

Stay tuned!

Hopefully in the next week or two. We're still trying to get Object Desktop 2004 out the door and then we can get WB 3.4 / SkinStudio 4.2 / Theme Manager out there.

Theme Manager will be free. I'll do a quickie video of that in a sec.

I might actually buy and use WB when this happens. I just wish there would be some more good skins for it. I'm a fan of the more lean skins and some of the WB skins are too gaudy. That's the ONLY thing stopping me from using it now.

The morphing seems pretty cool. Definitely something a little different, but performance is the main attraction.

edit: i just realized im using DeadAIM again and, last time I tried the two, the deadaim tabbed IM window would unskin everytime a new tab was opened. :(
