I don't even use WB right now and I think it's disgusting how people have so many misconceptions of it. For those who love it, 43 will definitely rule, but guys like jaycougar could be given the cure for cancer and if it was branded under the Windowblinds moniker he would bash it.

*sigh* even the forums over at xfire are anti-wb fanboys. I attempted to report a bug in xfire when using WB and look what I get in return:

 What's wrong with those guys? That's really sad.

Is it really faster than uxtheme patches...?

The only skin I use really is Watercolor... But you know, Stardock could get more of my money randomly, if it hapenned to be more interesting performance wise...

Well, try it out! For the same skin, I believe that WindowBlinds can outperform uxtheme, but there's nothing to stop you using both and seeing which one you prefer. There are tools like SkinBench that are meant to be able to measure performance, but the best way it to see how it works for you.

It should be noted that WindowBlinds is the only choice if you want to see increased performance or features in the future - Stardock has continuously promised that, and I think anyone who remembers the difference between WB 3 and WB 4 will agree they have delivered it. The theme engine in XP hasn't changed since 2001, so it remains at about the WB 2 level of performance, and that isn't going to change for a long while (besides which, do you really think MS will maintain compatability with previous rouge themes? It's not in their interest).

But I'm sounding like a fanboy, so I'll stop now. It is good stuff, though. ;-)

that thread was so irritating I had to register and say something arh!!!!

Man, that thread turned from an innocent bug report to pure chaos. It's a classic case of "I saw a friend's friend complain about it in an IM conversation 5 years ago" sort of thing. They have no idea the power of WB.

omg, that is the worst thread i've ever read....

how does that kid live a regular, day to day life?

i was messing with him on aim, and he wanted to kick my ass in a video game. i wonder if thats his solution for all his problems...

and he still thinks bb is making all those accounts...lmao...

Yeah video game revenge!

Probably a 14 year old kid with coke bottle bottom lenses wearing a t-shirt that says "1337" or "got root?" living in their parent's basement with the only source of light coming from the cold cathode in their case. And when they're not making video gaming threats they are downloading porn and making threads about how to password protect folders so their parents wont find out.

HEY! Don't diss thinkgeek gear! It really is my almost unique source of decent t-shirts ;P

The only difference lies in the fact that I am not 14 years years old nor do I wear glasses. But I do get my tan from my monitors.

Oh and I don't waste my time arguing over a simple preference in software, unless the fate of the world depends on it. That has yet to be seen.

Hey! I'm 21, not 14! Get it right :p

microsoft works sortha togheter with windowblinds, they also made a xbox skin for it

they wouldnt update the xp skinning engine, they just say go with WB :p

Please lets not let this thread fall away from it's main focus, WB 4.3.

i have to say it......is the kid on crack? ****ing seriously now, in all honesty....i think im stupider from reading his posts...how can someone be so ignorant and continue to post useless **** about "multiple personalities"

i believed this post on the thread was by far the best, and it would be something i would have said

More serious note: fragmonger, not 1 of your posts has been helpful. I suggest you stop posting now and shut the **** up before you seriously get owned kid.

i seriously would punch that kid

Meh - I have a full Stardock license but I'll never reinstall WB again, I really prefer to use something that doesnt want to control every aspect of my machine.

Glad it is faster performance wise however, perhaps one day ;)

In what way does it want to control every aspect of your PC?

I just got my OD subscription and installed 4.3 beta and skinstudio pro. It still didn't convert the OpusOS skin too well. I will end up getting the one snidley whiplash did, but I was just hoping it would work a little better. The morphing effect is sweet as hell though.
