Matrix XII
Are you kidding? The Avs are kicking the crap out of the Stars. First off Turco is not playing like himself and that is really hurting the Stars. Unless they pull off a miracle Dallas will not win that series; they are getting outplayed in almost every aspect of the game.
Steffan
I know the stars are getting owned by the avs. turco is trying to be the 6th player on the ice when he is playing the puck. he should worry more about stopping the puck instead of playing it. djgramma
Knowing how the Avs played down the stretch in the season, I can say it's a toss up for that series. Dallas needs to get to them, like pretty much every team in the NHL this season (on again off again) (Un)Fortunately the Avs' players are playing great as of recently. Nucks have two, actually three awesome goaltenders and I was iffy at first with Moose, but he's proven to me that he could be great against the Flames. Clouts can come back in the second round, right now he needs to rest. If Hedberg ever gets off his game, we have Auldy. I believe, and this is partially helped by my hatred of the leafs, that the Sens will take it. Simply put, they have more to gain (Toronto can just buy more players and go at her next year) Plus, the leafs aren't great, just really good. Hehe, enough of my trash talk. GO NUCKS GO! Matrix XII
It's not a toss up anymore... Avs are up 2-0, and they don't let people come back in tight series.
BMac
Whether the Avs beat the Stars or not I don't believe thay Abischeir or Salo will win a cup. Same goes for Hedberg in VC. Every team that wins the cup has a stellar goalie. The Nucks and Avs don't and that's why I don't believe they'll be hoisting the cup in June. As for the Leafs and Sens it will be a great series but realistically with Lalime still hurt its lights out for the Sens.
Steffan
STREAKS: Dallas has lost five of its last eight home playoff games. it looks like Avs might have a good chance of going up 3 games to love tonight.

GO NUCKS GO! it's not really a tossup for the Avs. Their star players are playing great playoff hockey. Forsberg, Sakic, Tanguay, Hejduk and Blake have picked it up for the playoffs... something theyre good at. Even if their last month of play was not that great, dont forget this is like a new season now and going against these guys every 2 days is not soemthing to mess with. Im still iffy about Aebischer, but the rest of the time can pick up his slack (hopefully) Since when did Hedberg become so great? he had a good run in Pittsburg... so what? His play in Calgary was decent, nothign outstanding, not like Fernandez, Giguere or Theodore (comparing fairly 'new' goalies to Hedberg). I wouldnt rest my teams playoff run on a goalie such as 'moose' (btw, i thought Messier was Moose) or that other backup u guys have.

Pittsburg had a good run but the had more than Hedberg going well for them. The only positive that Hedberg has over Cloutier is puck handling. That's it. Well said bayrider. Props man. :D
Matrix XII
Hedberg is a great goalie, just because he has played backup for Van doesn't mean anything. He has solid technique and loves pressure. He plays the puck well, and I think he will do fine in the series.
Hills420
I disagree. Hedberg is not good enough. He played 21 games this year with only 8 wins and a 2.51 GAA. That is not good enough for a serious Cup run. The 200-2001 Pens still had Jagr, Lang, Kovalev, Straka, Hrdina etc.
Steffan
Canucks are not going to win the cup this year. but it doesnt matter what you do in the regular season, it only matters what you do now in the playoffs. its hard enough for any goalie to come in during a game. you dont get any time to warm up, so for him to come in and stop 19 of 20 shots in a tight game is good. He will be good enough to get into the 2nd round of the playoffs.

Matrix XII
So your only reason that the Nucks wont win is because of Hedberg Steffan?
Steffan
So your only reason that the Nucks wont win is because of Hedberg Steffan? he's not the only reason why they wont win this year. they are not as talented as the wings and the avs. if they continue into the later rounds of the playoffs, I think the lost of Bertuzzi will start to hurt the team. btw, Devils over Flyers 4-2 today. CatnipOligarchy
well yeah, i mean, if they had lost that game, theyd be down 3-0 and pretty much screwed. if there is to be a turning point, that has to be it, and it had to happen tonight.
