Sharks are playing like they want it

i think this is the first time a backup goalie has played for the Avs in the playoffs (isnt it?)

this year, yes. remember game 7 of the western conference finals in 2002 between the avs and wings? ;)

Can't believe the flames won that game. They were outplayed easily for the first two periods and most of the third period. There was also one goal in the first period that was disallowed :( Very disappointing. I hope the Wings don't plan on losing this series...

BTW, I'm glad the Avs lost (as is every Red Wings fan :p).

Senators' Martin fired after another playoff loss to Leafs

if u ask me, its not Martin whos the problem in Ottawa, its the ****heads who go out on the ice everyday, dump Lalime, find a better goalie, re-organize that team who has no desire to win a hockey game. Put some heart on that team, talent will get u no where if u have no desire to win

That's the problem with Martin. He doesn't inspire heart. Pat Quinn may be a lowsy tactical coach (especially compared with Martin) but if there is one thing that Pat Quinn is good at its inspiring a team to win.

I'm not saying that Pat Quinn is the best coach ever (although he did get us a gold metal in 2002). My problem with Quinn is his dedication to selected players (Reichel, Renberg and Antropov). They must be great guys off the ice...

sharks played impressive. looks like abescher might crack after all.

detroit looked pretty good too, looks like they might run into J.S. Giguere II...you think they'd handle it better this year.

Detroit got rattled yesterday but they'll get better. I'm sorta mixed feelings here. I want Detroit to win but I also want the Flames to win. As for Aebischer, I think he was just caught off guard (really off guard). Hopefully he'll be playing a lot better on Saturday though, or a second loss could mean a possible elimination in Round 2 for the Avs.

Roy had his bad games as well. Remember the blow out a couple of playoffs ago, when the Wings and Avs were playing in game 7? I think Roy gave up 6 goals in that game. All goalies has their bad days. During the playoffs, it gets put under a microscope just like everything else. Aebischer had a bad game against the Stars and the next game he was great. So, hopefully he will bounce back and play good. If not, then Avs should get their golf clubs ready for the off season.

Can't wait for 1pm. local game 2 Flames vs. Detroit.

A little quote from Manny Legace;

"That is going to be a scary playoff team. Scary, I know I'd be worried playing them," Legace said after that win. "If their goaltending gets hot, and no one's been hotter than Kiprusoff, they could make some serious noise, some Anaheim-like noise, this year."

Sigh, Joe Nieuwendyk out for Game 2 vs Philly

You are kidding, where did you hear this from?

*Edit: Nevermind, I found it on ESPN's page.

The Flames got absolutely KILLED today by the Wings lol... Iginla is an idiot for fighting Hatcher, that shows no leadership. He is their top scorer, and fighting a 6'5 defensemen :| ... btw, the AVs are embarrasing themselves right now :p

Iginla shows that he isnt a ######, and at least he didnt do a bertuzzi.

he made sure his helmet stayed on, so he didn't really exactly show he isn't one.
