A little biased aren't we.

cubbies all the way this year!!  hehe, i've said that in this thread for the past 3 years i've been here :)

and ive said braves over red sox every year.. like ever.. still got a warm spot for the cubs though.. wrigley is probably my favorite ballpark.. it and fenway are really close, ive just been to more games at wrigley

Well, the season starts for real tomorrow so I thought I'd share what I thought. First, the whole Japan thing was a dumb idea. It was cool the first time with the Cubs-Mets, but I agree with some of the sportswriters in that they should promote it here in the US first.

Predictions:

AL East: Yanks, Red Sox, Jays, Orioles, DRays

AL Cent: Royals, White Sox, Twins, Indians, Tigers

AL West: Angels, A's, Mariners, Rangers

NL East: Phils, Braves, Marlins, Expos, Mets

NL Cent: Cubs, Astros, Cards, Brewers, Pirates, Reds

NL West: DBacks, Giants, Padres, Dodgers, Rockies

WC: Red Sox, Astros

ALCS: Red Sox over Angels

NLCS: Cubs over Phils

MVP: Vlad, Sosa

Cy: Schilling, Wood

Atlanta, are you kidding me? I don't think they'll win that division this year. Not strong enough, using a few new guys.

I do agree in Wood for Cy Young, he's pitching unbelievable, and Sosa is mastering the baseball right now, he's absolutely killing everyone at the plate.

BTW, why isn't Opening Day a national holiday? I'd gladly exchange it for a worthless one like Columbus Day. :p

i just make it a holiday.. i asked off from work and i'll be leaving school early for the game.. some things are just more important

The only thing(s) I care about this season are 1) whether the Braves can cut payroll and still win the NL East 2) if the A's can lose another MVP and still win the AL West 3) pray that the Yankees choke on all of their money. It's all I care about every year. And every year, it's the same thing. So, why change?

Seriously, though, I can't wait until tonight's ESPN game. Those Japan games didn't mean shyt to me, tonight/tomorrow is the real Opening Day.

World Series: A's/Braves

*anita sadly looks forward to another long season for her beloved reds. a microscopic payroll, trading good players for prospects that MIGHT be something in 3-4 yrs, and carl lindner dodging questions about why he won't build a competitive team in cincinnati even after the taxpayers were promised one if they approved a tax for a new stadium. instead of answering those questions, he talks about his philathopic good deeds. dammit you stingy son of a bitch you need to think of the reds as worthwhile cause and get us a team that's not the joke of the ****ing major league*
