Stacker
color codesThey are just in decimal form. (e.g. white: 0xffffff => 16777215) You can convert between Hex and Dec using windows' calculator(go into scientific mode) :) seems easy but this is actually not completely so. For example, I wanted to set color for HeaderBg, and I had to go thru the following process: 1. define color in a grafix tool 2. set it to NEGATIVE 3. retrieve the RGB codes for this negative color (puke, that is!) 4. change RGB codes to hex code 5. put hex code into Calculator and convert to decimal 6. copy the decimal number into Calendar.ini And even it is a pain because the negative color is usually darker so before Step 3, I gotta lighten the color. Yikes. :) (I know this is temporary and there will be a normal settings panel for this. But what if it wouldn't be? :) ) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/157465-longhorn-systray-clock/page/17/#findComment-584279454 Share on other sites

Stacker
:) well I played with that anyway. Strange thing: some fonts, even if they are narrow, condensed etc types, causes a horizontal stretch if applied to Weekday. RCube, didya mention that there will be a DayColumnOffsetX (horizontal) or something? Btw fonts: if you guys happen to have Solex2, try it using for HeaderText. It has nice numbers and looks great, I think. Whoever has the max will be set as the width of the entire calendar. And the week header and week are drawn to fit the width of the calendar. You should post a screenshot so I can see what is going on. Stacker
You should post a screenshot so I can see what is going on. Well, I don't wanna litter the thread with my shots :) but here is an easy-to-test example: - set all settings to default - change ONLY the Weekday font from Franklin Gothic Medium to Verdana You should experience a horizontal stretch after this already. Now increase the Weekday font size by 1-2 pts. Even more wide enlargement occurs. As per observed, the Weekday font size changing triggers total width increases. Problem is that some fonts are simply ugly in small (9-10 pt) size but they would look great in bigger -- while the calendar width should not change. oh well, another Stacker suggestion! Incoming! :) Suggestion for even more (independent) params: - CalendarWidth - CalendarHeight - CalendarOffsetX (distance from right screen edge) - CalendarOffsetY (distance from Taskbar) - CalendarPadding (the gap between Calendar border and the internal objects, same all around) Hope you do not mind... :) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/157465-longhorn-systray-clock/page/17/#findComment-584282258 Share on other sites
ozgeek
Yeah. I experienced the width increase whist changing fonts but when I change back to Frankin, the wide decrease back to default. dkldkldkl
Awesome! :) Bug: I changed the weekday headers' font to Trebuchet MS, and it changed my clock's font to that as well... Only after I changed my clock's font back to Franklin Gothic, it worked well. Oh god, 4,248 K here after I open the calendar (only 720K before.) But when I play games I close it so it doesn't matter. Stacker
How do you guys like the control panel interface? I changed it alot from the preview. :DMan.. I been doing 12hour days for the past few days...and I didn't even sleep last night to get the program out(I think I did 15hours). lol :p RCubie, the new cpl applet is great. (Y) Lotsa tabs, lotsa settings, this is really a reason to be cheerful :) I personally like this tweak galore :) And you are really a hardcore coder, I expected the release in a week and you deliver at speed of light :) Comments: "Calendar Position" tab: Layout is quick and neat, but I wonder if the items names could be shown in a List Box, instead a dropdown list. It could be quicker to single clik to items in a visible list than always dropdown+click. This could apply to both Fonts and Colors sections. I also suggest to change the "Name" words to "Item" or "Item name" in these sections. "Calendar Position" tab: Tab name is somewhat distracting. I suggest "Calendar Metrics" or sg alike because not only the cal. position but all metrics can be set here. This panel is definitely not for the faint-hearted :) but is cool, professional and has some extra space for additional (hm, suggested ;) ) parameters as well. "Clock" tab: For AM/PM, we can use lowercase but if we use Show "Day of the Week" mode, the clock shows the hardwired MO, TU etc. names. What about a field (maybe tuneled from the "Calendar" tab) where the clock-used weekday names could be edited? Localized usage applies here and consistency with the customization possibilities in the Calendar. "Calendar" tab: Button Bitmap part would look awesome if showing the current buttons as image preview. (on any tab:) Number input fields (offsets, spacing etc.) could be equipped with Spin Button to save typing and to help value increase/decrease via mouse. "About" tab: An LClock logo added here, maybe? :) Okay, man, get some sleep and keep up the superb work! dkldkldkl
Yes, I also like the revised CP :) Could you add an option to mirror the clock? On Right-to-Left systems, the clock is mirrored, so if this feature is enabled on those systems they'll see the clock well. :) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/157465-longhorn-systray-clock/page/17/#findComment-584285546 Share on other sites

Night.Hawk
I think it's great. I like the idea about being able to change the MO/TU and all that when you choose to have it show the day of the week. Also I know it'd be really hard and I'm not suggesting it in anyway, but it would be really cool if instead of the drop down boxes you had like a preview of the calendar and when you clicked on a certain part the grayed out option thing allowed you to change the color. Kinda like on the Advanced tab under the Appearance tab in the Display Properties. Oh, and maybe a way to have a color selector thing that grabs the color of where you click. So like you move it to somewhere on your desktop or whatever and it grabs the color of that pixel. Would make it really easy to change the color to say the color of your start button. If you understand what I'm saying tell me, or else I'll think that I made no sense at all. That happens quite a bit :p Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/157465-longhorn-systray-clock/page/17/#findComment-584287162 Share on other sites
RCube
Cool keep the feedbacks and bug reports coming. ;) I finally remembered why I worked so hard to get it done... because I have to play Doom3 very soon and won't have time to develop! lol :p Hey what do you guys think should be the default calendar look? Keep the way it is or make it a little bigger? Remember now, this is for the people that will never bother to configure lclock. So something easy to read is very important and consistent with the default winxp theme(or classic window). Targeted at 800x600 to 1280x1024 I like the bigger one better...but then again I run 1600x1200 with bold fonts. lol :p Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/157465-longhorn-systray-clock/page/17/#findComment-584287256 Share on other sites
Night.Hawk
I'm not sure which one I'd go with personally. I like the big one better, but I like the colors of the small one better too. 'cept for the green buttons. You should put both in the next version  Would have saved me the time to find green ones :p Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/157465-longhorn-systray-clock/page/17/#findComment-584287640 Share on other sites
