icecaveman
please can you make the arrows a bit more plain, it reminds me way to much of KDE :( Also I don't like those red colors perhaps if you could program a way so it would be user configurable. Stacker
I like green too. hahaOk I think I'll go with something like this: http://www3.telus.net/croso/media/small/ctheme1.png I like this version for default too, though blue buttons are also ok. Will you enlarge the buttons as default? Would be nice. Button remarks: - notice some white halo around the button edge (not cut properly?) - can you please provide a stepbystep instruction for button creation? - what about scalable vector buttons (just kidding :) ) My actual settings looks like this: (header font is Solex2 nad cal has a slight transparency as well) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/157465-longhorn-systray-clock/page/18/#findComment-584288491 Share on other sites
Mr. E
Hey RCube. I was just wondering, Would it be possible to add "Year Text Horizontal Offset" to the "Calendar Position" tab? If so, that would be great. Oh ya, Did you ever think of making or laying out the "Calendar Position" tab to look like the "Calendar Style" tab? I think it would be a little more user friendly. (I'm not saying that it isn't already.) You could have different section like you do in the "Calendar Style" tab, like "Fonts" and "Colors". Accept in the "Calendar Position" tab the sections could be: 1) Month/Year/Button Header Options 2) Week Header Options 3) Day Options 4) Other Options (i.e. : Calendar Vertical & Horizontal Offsets, Spacings.) Well, thats all I can think of right now. Keep up the excellent work. Stacker
My actual settings looks like this:(header font is Solex2 nad cal has a slight transparency as well) I must add that I use the buttons.bmp provided by Mr.E which are transparentically corrected. :) Btw. how about some buttons.bmp design posting, guys? Gfx talents of us should post some neat buttons in various styles (inculding LH metalic droplet explorer buttons) and post 'em here (in zips?) so we could change (and spare some button design work, hehe) :) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/157465-longhorn-systray-clock/page/18/#findComment-584288692 Share on other sites
Mr. E
Umm, Fellow Neowinians, if you don't want the "White Halos" around the buttons, then you can download that zip file that I posted a while back. I removed the white from them, so that if anyone uses different colors for the callendar beside the default colors, they wouldn't be bothered from the "White Halos". Here is the link for the Buttons. Stacker
Umm,Fellow Neowinians, if you don't want the "White Halos" around the buttons, then you can download that zip file that I posted a while back. I removed the white from them, Hi Mr.E, I use your buttons, they are fine. But now, I need some assistance. I tried to make my own buttons, but I always fail to mask out the background. My process: - I created an image with the 4 buttons under each other, then - set the background to a very different color (red or green, which were not used in the buttons) - recorded the RGB code for the background color (eg. 255,0,0) - saved the image as buttons.bmp - copied the buttons.bmp in the LClock folder - in LClock control panel, I set the transparent color of bitmap to (255,0,0) - and the red background (though distorted, jagged) is still there. Where do I go wrong? :( (my bmp file and screenshot is available if you need them to help me) Tx for any help from anyone. RCube
"Year Text Horizontal Offset", what you are looking for is "Month & Year Gap". The horizontal position of Year is relative to Month. 1.41a is out. Check page 1 for all the changes. And to get the new look, you must delete the old calendar.ini file. Mr. E
Hey Stacker, When you created your image with the four buttons in it, did you add any opacity to the image? If so, that is what would cause the "Transparent Background Color" to show up on your buttons. The reason is, because their would be a mix of two colors, therefor it would not be the original "Transparent BG Color" but it would look like it. If you want, you can post your BMP Buttons picture and I can fix it for you. Mr. E
"Year Text Horizontal Offset", what you are looking for is "Month & Year Gap". The horizontal position of Year is relative to Month. Hey RCube, I do use "Month & Year Gap" but it doesn't work, Well at least for the way i have the Calendar layed out. The way I have the calendar's top header set up is like this, the name of the month and the buttons are in the same place but i have moved the year underneath the name of the month. Now, when ever the month changes the year shifts/moves along with it. That is the reason why I asked if you could add "Year Text Horizontal Offset", so that when the year is positioned in the place that anyone puts it in, it will remain there even if the month changes. You can see what i am talking about, in these pictures. In the "Aug" picture, that is where i want the year to be but in the "Jul" it shifts to the side. Can you fix it? I hope i'm not bugging you, i'm just trying to help. dkldkldkl
Could you add an option to mirror the clock? On Right-to-Left systems, the clock is mirrored, so if this feature is enabled on those systems they'll see the clock well. :) I think you missed that post :( Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/157465-longhorn-systray-clock/page/18/#findComment-584289292 Share on other sites

If you want, you can post your BMP Buttons picture and I can fix it for you. Hey Mr.E and/or RCube, First, please describe the process to be followed to create the button image. Second: I am not an artist, actually :( and when I created my button image, it was compsed as 4 button images below each other, and the background color was set to rgb 255,0,0. The transparency of the background was left as 0 (not transparent). When I saved the picture as bmp, there was no transparency option available. "Saving transparency" is available only for GIF images. So if you would provide a step-by-step instructions like: - create buttons - put them on a red filled rectangle - set transparency so or so... - save as so or so... -- I would be thankful. Maybe this is very easy just I do not follow the proper method. For reference, here is the bmp I created. please note: the button position is incorrect (right arrows are lower), it is probably a positioning mistake, but not this is the main problem. my_buttons.zip Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/157465-longhorn-systray-clock/page/18/#findComment-584289352 Share on other sites
RCube
I think you missed that post :( I read all the posts, I do not reply to all of them. But I wrote down most of the suggestions. I have to see how hard it is to implement it and also how many requests I get. Stacker, in that bmp you posted. The red pixels are not all 255. Stacker
Stacker, in that bmp you posted. The red pixels are not all 255. RCube, :( this means that either I cannot solidfill a rectangle or the program ruins the palette when exporting bmps. I shudda doublecheck it. Otherwise, thanks for the update, lotsa implemented suggestions, great job (Y) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/157465-longhorn-systray-clock/page/18/#findComment-584289426 Share on other sites

Stacker
RCube, the LClock is making progress, - tray clock function ... checked - calendar popup ... checked - reminder function ... in development hell Another suggestion to shock you: Let's suppose that the Reminder function works. What about an Outlook Calendar tuneling function? I mean, it is ok to use LClock as standalone Reminder as well, but - if you have both LClock and Outlook installed on the system, - andif you make some entries in Outlook Calendar (appointments stc.), then LClock could (on demand) check the Outlook .pst file / Calendar, track appointments and copy them into LClock Calendar. Okay why use Outlook reminders if you got LClock reminders already, you may ask. Well, it would be useful to tunel the incoming meeting requests which come via mail, processed and stored in Outlook, then they could be copied (transloaded) to LClock Calendar, and users would not be forced to open the bloatware just to get reminded. Khm, does this concept pass the reality check? :) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/157465-longhorn-systray-clock/page/18/#findComment-584292439 Share on other sites
