0 RossDundas Veteran Posted September 14, 2001 Veteran Share Posted September 14, 2001 i haven't had any problems with it. Its almost identical incidently to KaZaa Media Desktop for some strange reason. 0 strife379
Yeah Morpheus works fine in WinXP Pro, I happen to be using it right now. As for KaZaa looking like Morpheus, that cause both are made by the same people, Morpheus just doesn't have Spyware in it. 0 PabUK Veteran Posted September 15, 2001 Veteran Share Posted September 15, 2001 I don't get it - if they are the same thing one with spyware and one without, why are there 2 in the first place? 0 PabUK Veteran Posted September 15, 2001 Veteran Share Posted September 15, 2001 Its alright I have figured it out now. FastTrack created the peer-to-peer technology behind them and licensed it to these two companies (as well as one called Grokster) which is why they are so similar. 0 Marshalus Veteran Posted September 15, 2001 Veteran Share Posted September 15, 2001 Spyware should be illegal, unless they tell you that it's being installed, and give you the option to disable it. 0 PabUK Veteran Posted September 15, 2001 Veteran Share Posted September 15, 2001 I like the fact that at download.com they now give a big warning on the Kazaa page about it containing spyware. And I have tried Morpheus now, it is really good. 0 Roger H. Veteran Posted September 15, 2001 Veteran Share Posted September 15, 2001 Hey.. XP works with more apps than Win2k so if you were using win2k (more than likely) then just get XP already since it plays more games and runs more apps than 2k does. Spyware can be eliminated with a program called AdAware, you can download the latest version from this site: http://www.lavasoftusa.com/ Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/1587-morpheus-in-windows-xp-professional/#findComment-7989 Share on other sites
0 Elliot B.
Last time I installed this, it found a piece of Spyware in almost EVERY thing I had! It sucks! 0 PabUK Veteran Posted September 16, 2001 Veteran Share Posted September 16, 2001 Although I have run AdAware many times since version 3 I have never found any interesting spyware on my system except for a few cookies belonging to advertising sites. Probably because I have always been careful not to install any in the first place. Maybe I should install some just to give it something to do next time. :) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/1587-morpheus-in-windows-xp-professional/#findComment-8013 Share on other sites
