Specifically, the time to copy increases exponentially as the number of items in the Media Library increases. CAUSE This behavior occurs because the player must continually enumerate through the Media Library to support certain features. The player enumerates even while the Media Library increases. Under the current implementation (before you apply this update), you can perform the following actions during the copy operation: Add or remove items that are to be copied to the device. Continually update the PDA pane with the media items that have just been copied. RESOLUTION A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next release that contains this hotfix. To resolve this problem immediately, contact Microsoft Product Support Services to obtain the hotfix.
