Steffan
DENVER -- Losing to the San Jose Sharks in six games might have been more than just the finish to a disappointing season for the Colorado Avalanche. It could be the end of an era. Although general manager Pierre Lacroix told the Denver Post Wednesday that coach Tony Granato will return, other big changes could be in store for the Avalanche, who are at something of a low point after nearly a decade of dominance, including two Stanley Cup titles. "I'm telling you Tony Granato will be there and should be there a long time, with the way he has worked this year and last year," Lacroix said. more at source: http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/playoffs2004...tory?id=1796158 can a mod change the sub title to .....but Granato is going to stay? LRoling
Yeah, that sucks, he benches Selanne and puts in Darby Hendrickson in one game of the playoffs, stupid. davemania
I think it was pretty obvious that Karyia and Selanne would only be a one year Av. It's sad that Forsberg might be on his way out considering that he is such a important player for the Av's. bayrider
GOOD. It's a well needed change, Selanne and Kariya played like complete sh1t all year. Selanne and Kariya are on the same road Pavel Bure is on if u ask me. Steffan
One of the biggest problem with the Avs this season was having too many super stars on their roster. Kariya and Selanne can still play, but they need to be on the number 1 line and with a center that can pass. If Forsberg leaves, then maybe it would be a wise move to try to keep Kariya and Selanne. Or better yet, have them go to Hockey Town  Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/164348-nhl-report-avs-going-to-change/#findComment-2068998 Share on other sites

Tran
It'd be sad if Forsberg leaves but that's his decision. I think the team did a great job this year even though they didn't win against the Sharks. Some players didn't perform and when they did it was too late. In the end, I think Colorado did a good job. Not the best, but a good job. I guess we'll just have to wait for next season. EDIT: The reason I reverted back to the Avs (and not keep Calgary) avatar and sig is that whenever I cheer for a team, they usually lose. :p Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/164348-nhl-report-avs-going-to-change/#findComment-2069834 Share on other sites
BroChaos Veteran Posted May 6, 2004 Veteran Share Posted May 6, 2004 yeah, they still had a great season, but with their lineup and payroll, they expected nothing less than the cup. who knows whats gonna happen with the cba and everything for next year...i just hope there's a season...
