0 Starman
I'm having trouble with PPC recognizing the hard drive .img file that I downloaded. I extracted it with WinRAR. Is there a way to tell early on if the "Mac" recognizes it? Mike

I'm leaving that for now ... gonna wait and see how this install turns out I'm having trouble with PPC recognizing the hard drive .img file that I downloaded. I extracted it with WinRAR. 0 Trek234
If you are buying a PowerBook why are you buying Panther seperatly? It comes with it. Plus Tiger should be out this fall/winter. Not to speak for him... but possibly two reasons. 1. How many powerbooks on ebay, clearance, etc come with Panther? 2. If he is going to give away panther he will need two in order to be in compliance with copyright law.
0 Liquid
Not to speak for him... but possibly two reasons.1. How many powerbooks on ebay, clearance, etc come with Panther? 2. If he is going to give away panther he will need two in order to be in compliance with copyright law. Heres the exact reason. My powerbook will be brand new, exact same as timdorrs infact which i find is pretty cool. And secound, My neighbour is paying for these as she wants to upgrade from 10.1 to 10.3. So ya she said I could use the CD(s) for this.
0 Starman
Still won't recognize the hd .img file. I even uncommented the line in the config file that says "hd" just to be sure. How did everyone decompress their .bz2 file and how can I create one from scratch? EDIT: Ok, Disk Utility recognized the HD img. I formatted it, quit Disk Util, and Installer said that it could not install OS X on that HD. Thunder getting VERY bad here in NJ. shutting down.
