What's the best optimisation for the Athlon64? Because it has SSE2 which is presumably what the P4 build is optimised for.

You get this using the gcc compilers:

-march=cpu-type

pentium4

Intel Pentium4 CPU with MMX, SSE and SSE2 instruction set support.

athlon-4, athlon-xp, athlon-mp

Improved AMD Athlon CPU with MMX, 3dNOW!, enhanced 3dNOW! and full SSE instruction set support.

k8, opteron, athlon64, athlon-fx

AMD K8 core based CPUs with x86-64 instruction set support. (This supersets MMX, SSE, SSE2, 3dNOW!, enhanced 3dNOW! and 64-bit instruction set extensions.)

I haven't tried to compile it myself foy my Athlon64 yet. I will probably have time to do that some day this week.

Genie effect: (It's pretty slow. It really is just Frame 1: In the dock, Frame 2: Warped window, Frame 3: Normal window.)

Weird, my genie effect is really smooth. it's slower then a real apple, but not that bad.

I have been using PearPC since the first public release now and I am still very happy with it.

Now, after having installed Panther, I tried to install Mandrake Linux 9.1 PPC - twice, without success.

Everything runs well up to the point, the machine needs to be rebooted at the end of the installation. After reboot, PearPC keeps telling me there's no bootable partition and I have tried every single partition available (in 'select' mode).

I have partitioned the 6GB hard disk image into two partitions under Panther. The first 3GB I left empty (free space) and the second was partitioned as HFS Extended. Then, I began installing Mandrake and let it partition automatically. There was no obvious problem during the installation. So this leads me to the question: What do I have to do in order to be able boot Mandrake Linux?

Any help would be appreciated.

BTW, I also get these artifacts with the latest trunk 0.2pre version (optimized for P4).

1 minute = 15 seconds

And again how do i take a dmg and make it iso. Ive tried winiso, nero and just changing the extention none work.

Has anyone done it before?

Just try to mount it again, mine didn't work the first time either. Also, you might need shapeshifter for some themes.

Copy the contents of the "CD" to your "hard drive", then try installing from there. I noticed this too...things don't like to install from the "CD".

WillVG, what exactly is this dmg you're trying to convert to iso, and what're trying to do with it?
