0 autodefe
Is it normal to have to reinstall OSX after overwriting the old ppc executable with this new SDL build? (no configs touched here) I'm asking because that's what I've had to do. I copied over sdl.dll and the new ppc 0.3pre SDL newclock blah blah blah, launched it, but it didn't see my already existing OSX installation from my PantherImage.img. So now I'm reinstalling it. Is this normal? I'm not THAT upset since it's only taking 30-60 minutes (so far) on a new installation rather than 2-3 hours as before, but it sucks that I have to redownload and reinstall everything I had prior. 0 stokd
All I do when there's a new build is make a new folder, copy my config file and change the .bat file I use for PearPC. That way if I ever wanna switch builds because of something I can just change the .bat file back.
0 eaglebtc
I save the build EXE's with their original filenames. For example, my PearPC shortcut on the desktop refers to "d:\PearPC\ppc.pre03.sdl.win32clock.exe osxconfig.txt" and I have had zero problems trying newer builds. wow, networking in panther just wouldn't work with the old sdl builds, now it does, just by using .03 pre. Phalanx, how is your Windows network setup? Bridge or just Internet Connection Sharing? Also, for anyone else who knows this: what is the latest version of Azureus that works on OSX? 2.1 and 2.084 both failed. I downloaded the Mac OS X .DMG files from Sourceforge. Should I get the generic java versions instead?

0 eaglebtc
Oh check this out! File Sharing between the PearPC and the host works again!! Just remove the Bridge and go back to using Internet Connection Sharing (ICS). You'll want to setup a new password-protected user called "filesharing" in Windows. Make this user an administrator. You can substitute "filesharing" with whatever you like, as long as the user is assigned a password. Now, share your folders from Windows, then in PearPC go to smb://192.168.0.101 (substitute your computer's local IP address). Authenticate with your "filesharing" username and password. Mount the desired shared folder, and Presto! You're set to go. Move files in and out of the Mac with ease.
0 pctuk
I can't wait to get hold of a copy of Panther so I can try this out. Do the clock speeds that are reported relate to anything - is an OSX that reports, say 800mhz rather than 500mhz, faster?

0 jedavis1
Sooo...does anyone know how slow is it when run under a decent pc... too slow to do anything? I had an old PPC9500 withj a G3-250 upgrade in it, that I loaded 10.0 on when it first came out. I would say that it is at least as fast as that: Useabel, still slow BY TODAY'S G5 STANARDS! That said, it is useable the same way a 2-300MHz pc running Win95-98 is useable. I have a 2.5GHz PC with 512MB RAM and WinXP Pro
