wildbill1996
hey all. first off I use a dsl for internet connectivity and i have a linksys firewall router, model number befsx41 between my and the dsl modem. i just noticed that whenever i run tracert from cygwin it disconnects me from the internet at the dsl modem. it doesnt matter whether or not im pinging the local network or pinging somewhere on the internet. anyone ever seen this? any ideas? thanks guys! wildbill

MxxCon
i doubt it's problem with his isp. i think you should look into updated firmware for your router. also check out http://www.dslreports.com/forum/linksys they'll know alot more about that linksys model :)
wildbill1996
I upgraded, ran it for 20 minutes, and now I'm back to 1.45.7. The new firmware turned my halfway functional BEFSX41 into a non functional BEFSX41. I couldn't browse webpages, and TRACERT crashed the unit. Every time I tried to trace something, it did a full reset. I have lost all faith in Linksys. This is stupid. just found that on the dslreports.com site! thank mxxcon! that did cross my mind but i figured linksys had a good reputation. oh well... no code is perfect. thanks guys!
