Arckon
I just installed Foobar v0.8.3 after using Winamp for many years. I have mixed feelings about it right now. I am so used to using my scroll wheel to change the volume in Winamp, and also being able to easily change my EQ settings (and via pre-loaded presets). Is there anyway I can get this to work w/ Foobar? I may have to go back to using Winamp if not.
Ran Sagy
Even though i love foobar and would recommand using that against anything that AOL might and prolly is already killing slowly, Stick with what works for you. You dont really need to force something on yourself cause you wont enjoy using it. Having that said, I'm pretty sure you do something similar, At least with the volume\scroll issue. On the other one, I'm not really sure i understood what you're trying to accomplish. Keep in mind though, The v0.9 beta is running at the moment aswell, Maybe you should make a feature request in the proper thread.
Arckon
I got my volume control put in the main window now. I had to turn on the hidden toolbars option in the column ui settings. Then I found a volume control toolbar from somewhere (can't remember since I've been all over the place looking for toolbars, panels, and other goodies for foobar). The only thing I'm really missing right now is a quick way to get to the equilizer settings w/o having to go into the options all of the time. I would like to find a toolbar for that, but I haven't seen one yet. I'll continue to mess w/ foobar's settings and such. I got kinda bored w/ Winamp so I thought I should try something new and see how I like it. I really like how customizeable foobar is, but I find it hard to grasp all the settings and such. Arckon
I've been trying to change the status bar font's color, but I can't get it to stick. I select the color I want, then hit apply, then hit save all, and it just goes back to the default (which is black and I can't see it very well w/ my current color scheme). Actually, I tried to change the colors on some of the items in the playlist and that doesn't seem to work either. I hit the ... button to select my color and then I get the hex value between 2 boxes, but when I try to save my settings, it either goes back to all 00000 or stays where it is but doesn't actually change the color. I also have a minor gripe about the main playlist window that shows the current tracks ready to be played. How can I get it so that it doesn't highlight the previous song that was just played. Right now, it shows the current song as being selected, then it has an outline around the song that was just played. It's no real big deal, but it's a bit annoying since it looks like I have 2 songs selected. Also, what's all this stuff about "follows cursor mode?" I had to turn it off in the playback menu because it kept playing a song, then went back up to the previous song (I'm guessing it's because it had it selected). And can anyone point me to where they are getting all those cool panels? So far, I have only found the album art, the tab stacker, and the volume control. Thanks for all the help! Arckon
Ok, I figured out how to change the colors. For the main playlist window, I had to select my color w/ the color picker, then copy/paste that hex value into the "colour" tab for the column I want to change. Then I had to check the "Use custom colour spec" checkbox. But now I would like to change the background color too. For example, I just changed the track # color to red, but I also got a black background w/ it. Is there a special syntax to change the foreground color and the background color independently? I'm using the Columns UI, BTW. Edit: n/m! I got it figured out. I had to put it like 0000FF/FFFFFF as forground/background color. So is there any place that I can get a collection of color schemes so that I don't have to keep messing around w/ this stuff myself?
Arckon
Sorry about repeated postings here. I've been messing around w/ foobar for about 2 days straight now and am still trying to get used to how things are done here. Can someone help me get my colors more consistent? I would like all of the colors to be the same everywhere for things such as highlighted item, highlighted item background, window background color, etc. I can't seem to find some of these items as you will see in the screenshot that some of them are not consistent. In particular, I want the one that highlights the current song being played to be visible again. The screenshot will show that I have a song selected, but the one that is currently playing (as noted by the length column does not highlight that as being currently played (the colors make invisible). Ran Sagy
That reminds me, anyone can run the latest toaster for foobar from that site ? Here it seems to get stuck on the default config and no configuration is possible, either via the components menu (no Toaster entry anymore) and nothing in the prefrences dialog.
