darkmark327
Yeah..like so http://www.aadhu.com/images/gweather.jpg Interestingly enough that's how I did have it, but I thought no one liked it that way. I will give it the option though (it will be trivial to implement since that's how it was originally).

Custom
Can u add an option so if you click an ok when there is an alert it stops blinking in the systray until an update occurs?
Stokkolm
Very nice work, much less intrusive than weatherbug!

DouglasLWarren
This is an awesome little app. I've been using weatherbug for a long time.....Not any more!! I haven't read the entire thread but I was curious if you were going to add or if there was a way to change the font or color of the systray icon?? Thanks for a great app!! EDIT: I found the setting...but the colors don't seem to be applied. Any help with this?? Edited September 24, 2004 by Indy_Mav

Stephan123
it has been on betanews.com It is a very good program.I like it 1 question please=When is the official release of Weathalert 2.4 or 2.
Seth
/me <3 WeathAlert. Beautifully simple and much nicer to use than Weatherbug. I don't suppose you would consider allowing the graphics to be swappable so we could use things like WeatherPod? I'm seeing XML... :p
darkmark327
OK let me attempt to address all this: This is an awesome little app. I've been using weatherbug for a long time.....Not any more!!I haven't read the entire thread but I was curious if you were going to add or if there was a way to change the font or color of the systray icon?? Thanks for a great app!! EDIT: I found the setting...but the colors don't seem to be applied. Any help with this?? Font should be soon (I'm in the middle of the tedious ... very very very tedious.... process of redoing the settings right now. As for the colors not being applied, that is overridden if you have the option checked which shows high temperatures as red and low temperatures as blue. hmm, doesn't seem to do that right now. The tray icon should only blink yellow/orange and toggle between the temperature and the image while the alert is visible, i.e. until you hit ok. If that's still happening after you've dismissed the alert, then I'll ask you for some more specific info so I can narrow down the problem Yer I Agree "awesome little app" Thanks! it has been on betanews.comIt is a very good program.I like it 1 question please=When is the official release of Weathalert 2.4 or 2.3 I have lots of stuff coming...first, the settings page is being redone... this is very tedious work and is taking a while. Also: -font of tray icon will be an option - >2 locations possible - delayed initial connection - option for old style tray (2 icons) - week at a glance (alternative view of forecast pane) - detailed forecast (hour-by-hour with graphing and such) - configurable sounds - sound with notifications (high/low temp, inclement conditions) option so there's much to do I don't suppose you would consider allowing the graphics to be swappable so we could use things like WeatherPod? I'm seeing XML... tongue.gif That's already an possible, see here...oh that reminds me, I also have work to do on my site
AGMW
Howdy I was reluctant to come back to Neowin after a year of being away, especially considering all the unfortunate childishness that was and still is around here. But anyway I saw your program and just could not resist the urge to log in. Thanks a lot for all your hard work on such a great program! I just [permanently] switched over to WeathAlert (or is it WeatherAlert?) from Weather Pulse. Furthermore, as a student myself, I do not have much money that I could donate, nor know much in the way of programming, but do offer any help you may need, such as testing. Sorry this is long, but I have one last thing: would you be able to add a toggle for the display of the degree symbol please? That would be great. Thanks again! It is WeathAlert, but the mods screwed up when they edited the thread title (it was "WeatherSpy" but someone pointed out the problems with that in today's spyware/adware infested world). I'll add your suggestion to the next release. I'm still redoing the settings  real PITA.
Brewzzin
I've been using this app for about a week now. I've tried WeatherBug and the weather app weather.com has. This is so much better than either of them. My best reguards! Keep up the good work. Can't wait for an update. :alien:
Emon
When I run WeathAlert it only shows up in the process list of task manager...I don't see any window or any sys tray icon. I have tried everything .. removed the app, removed all the config files from documents and settings. I also searched through the registry and removed all the reg keys that belongs to this app. Restarted the machine, then re-downloaded the app .. none of that worked  I still see it running in the process list ..thats about it .. no window opens up. possible bug or is it something wrong with my computer ? darkmark327
Hmm, I'm not sure. Do you have a slow connection? Perhaps it's just taking a long time to download the weather info. One more thing you can try is going into Administrative Tools -> .NET Framework Wizards and try "Fix an Application". I am not sure it will work but it's worth a shot. JRosenfeld
Congratulations on an excellent and well presented product. It works beautifully XP SP2, .NET framework 1.1 SP1. Classic style desktop. It shows the data for Chester UK, and Wrexham North Wales, both within 12 miles of where I live. Now I just have to believe the forecasts :-)

darkmark327
I have midterms for the moment (thus removing time from things like this) and I'm still working on the new settings page which is pretty much being rebuilt from scratch and is progressing slowly. Once I clear that hurdle things should progress more quickly.

JRosenfeld
Just noticed one small point in the weather display. I am looking at Chester UK. I can also get that from my Yahoo UK personalised home page. The info is identical, not surprisingly, as the source is the same (uk.weather.com) At the moment, the text in the equivalent to your current conditions panel on Yahoo is 'showers in the vicinity'. In Weather Alert it shows that also in the extended view, in the current as of panel, but in the current conditions panel it gets chopped to 'showers in the' presumably because you haven't got enough space, or did not set shrink font size to fit? The Yahoo home page does not show the detailed forecast info like you do, and it does not have animation on the satellite map, so I'm using weatherAlert for preference :-).
