User Accounts open Notepad?

Strange problem but it seems when I click on User Accounts in the Control Panel, it opens up Notepad instead and it gives the following error (see pic).

I searched around for an answer but I haven't been able to come up with anything.

Suggestions anyone?

Edit: Yes, I have already tried a System Restore, and I have replaced the existing Nusrmgr.cpl with the backup I made before changing things around but still nothing.

weird .. I am having the same problem .. also I was fixing one of my friends computer .. she had like tons of spyware and she got the same user account/notepad thing ..

Hmm, is the file extension association intact? Tools > Folder options > File types

hmm .. in my computer its associated with windows clip board .. guess thats why its opening notepad ..

Yea, the CPL extensions are associated correctly. I'm still not sure what's wrong with it.

Emon, are you sure you wern't looking at the CLP extension instead? I got confused by that at first.

Ok I've found a fix for this.

You have to enable HTA apps (usually disabled with HTAstop) to run in Windows.

After enabling them again the User Accounts now open properly.

I've attached the HTAstop file to help out anyone who needs this.

:yes: Yup, Microsoft has said that more and more of it's little applets like that will be HTA-based in the future. So HTAstop had better get over them . . .
