Steve Posted June 19, 2004 Share Posted June 19, 2004 France have been SO damn lucky in the tournament so far. One Own-Goal The 'Ball to Hand' (Goal-keeper kicked the ball against Trez....) incident. Penalty after Gerrards STUPID backpass. The only goal that didn't have a hell of a luck, was Zidane's classy Free Kick. Personally I think France are WELL over-rated this year. There's no questioning the players, as individuals, but as a team, they surely aren't living up to their reputation. Thierry Henry and Trezeguet haven't looked that great, Henry's hardly done a thing in 180 mins. The defence looks VERY Dodgy, hopefully they (France) will contiunue to play Marcel Desailly, that will be their Major downfall... :laugh: Mikael Silvestre has managed to give away a penalty a game... The team surely hasn't been as good as they've made out. After watching the Croatia game, i have to say they reminded me quite a bit, of Germany. Who too are known for having a sturdy defence, but of late, a little too much pressure, and they seem to crack... Personally, hope to see France in the Final, against England, where i have no question, they'd be some SWEET Revenge...
