christoofar
OK, this should be so simple, but I cannot figure it out. I have tried slipping SP2 to my copy of the original Gold release of XP Pro using Autostreamer. Everything appears to work fine, up until it's time to actually create the .iso. Then the GUI window tells me that it's now creating the .iso file, but like 5 seconds later, it announced it is finished, and of course , it isn't. I point AS to my CD of XP, then point it to my SP2 file, I use the suggested "WINXPSP2.iso" name for the .iso, and ask for it to be put in F:\. The program runs, does the slipstream process normally. So what am I missing here? AS is installed in C/Programs/Autostreamer SP2 is on my E partition XP disc in CDROM drive Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/188337-autostreamer-released-v-1029/page/10/#findComment-584343339 Share on other sites

pwillener
Is there any support for this tool? I downloaded it, then ran it. As soon as I insert the Win XP CD-ROM (DELL OEM) I get a pop-up "Run-time error 5: invalid procedure call or argument". Any suggestion? bozer
Hmmmm.. I didn't creat an ISO, but created a winrar file for me instead?? Did I miss something? All the right files are there, but I thought it would be ISO and not .rar.. Im sure I could just unrar, and burn those files Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/188337-autostreamer-released-v-1029/page/10/#findComment-584346951 Share on other sites

I used Nero and started up image burning and Nero recognized it as an iso file so I went ahead and burned it even though the file looks like WinRAR. alfador
Winrar registers *.iso by default, so that may be why. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/188337-autostreamer-released-v-1029/page/10/#findComment-584347040 Share on other sites

SilentKnight
Yea look at the file extension not the icon :) Winrar is able to read the iso as it would a compressed file.. Handy if you want to change something on the image before you burn it.. such as add a winnt.sif file :) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/188337-autostreamer-released-v-1029/page/10/#findComment-584348549 Share on other sites
mrbass
I tried slipstreaming winXP oem sp1a with WindowsXP-KB835935-SP2-ENU.exe and it took about 10 mins. After I installed it it still said Service Pack 1 so evidently it didn't work. I did get a update.exe error. Oh well I'll do it manually with nero..no biggie.
