A.K.R.
Argh...! I did not know what happened, but what I know is, there are a lot of files in my %TEMP% folder which I need to clear out, but I'm not very sure if it is OK. I tried using Spybot - Search and Destroy's Secure Shredder to shred these files away, but it crashed the program, and no files were erased. What should I do? Most of the files inside, interestingly, are those small avatars on deviantART.com. How did they end up in there, I seriously do not know. I also see that there are a lot of files that I have extracted from .zip files lying inside there. Why were they not deleted? I use PowerArchiver for handling .zip files, and Firefox to surf the web. Below is a screenshot of my %TEMP% folder: Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/188896-help-lots-of-temporary-files/ Share on other sites
ozgeek
Any files in any TEMP files are safe to delete. They are just rubbish files used by installers and setup programs. If a program needs something in it and it is in use, it will tell you via a Access Denied message. It is best to move theose files out somewhere else and hold for a day or two. If your computer behaves as normal withou those files, you can delete them permenantly. StealthCanadian
I totally Agree, its the same thing I do, I also have a batch file that runs at startup that clears out that folder as well. ozgeek
Just use the disk cleanup that comes with windows. Nobody needs anything else. But you have to go there and do it manually. This batch file I put in my startup folder perform all the cleanup that Disk Cleanup does too, but automatically. I have never gone to Disk Cleanup since I made this cleanup batch. VG11489, I will see what I can post that is useful. I have like thousands that does different things.
