Now i'm thinking of trying S.W:G and it's close to 2gb. So for a Strategy/fps would i find anything fun in this game? I don't wanna download 2gb just to try it.

it depends... many people love it, many people despise it. i have had a subscription from day one, and still enjoy it..

Guild Wars

From the creators of Diablo and StarCraft (ex Blizzard Developing Team I think, if not they're only the Battle.net dep. hehe)... it's currently on beta testing (closed) stage. Anyone played the E3 alpha testing event?

Check it out, isn't free but wont have a monthly fee, besides, it has a pretty kick ass graphics.

I played www.tvsgames.com for a few years but finally had to quit. It consumed a lot of time and actually got me too interested.. I was worring about it all day, lost sleep due to it. But to say the least, its am amazing web-based game. The community is great, I still drop by the forums ever so often so see whos still around, say hi to some friends there, etc. I recommend everyone check it out, but be warned - they dont deal with cheaters at all. You have been warned :) hehe

Also check out www.itswar.net. Its created by a player/helper of TVSgames. The communities are similar, so its usually assumed that if you play one, you have/do play the other. Its a different style of game completely, but still addicting.

I liked planetside when I was able to get a 14 day free trial, but I wont say much on that since its a pay to play game. However in that area, I recently grabbed the 14 day trial of SWG. I played around for an hour or 2 and I was not impressed at all. But I still will play through it and see what happens.

Wow, a great thread! Thanks for doing this, it's appreciated.

I am wondering myself if there are any good cyberpunk ones. Even the commercial pay-for offerings seem slim. I'd like to indulge myself in a Deus Ex MMORPG -- that gameworld is SOOO amazing -- but alas, no dice (so far, anyway).

Cheers.

try Neocron2:BDOY. They're currently in open beta. The game played from first person view. kinda like Morrowind but in a post apocalyptic setting.

For a totally "free" fantasy-based mmorpg, check out Rubies of Eventide

Cronous and knight online are no longer free, they ask you to pay an E-games monthly fee

i downloaded both and wasted my time ;)

i am currently downloading Project Entropia hope its free

http://www.knightonlineworld.com

US open beta. Enjoy.

Project Entropia is free, but in order to do anything in the game world you have to buy stuff with in game money (which you purchase with real money) So in essence it's a shareware type game, free to play but you gotta pay to get the full.
