As I posted at mozillazine:

Just letting you guys know that I got the new system up and running, but my ATA drive is not compatible with my system (don't get me started) so I have to wait for a second sata drive to arrive before I start building again.
shame the ATA drive wasn't working :/

Well, I bought a USB enclosure and got my backups off it and will be able to get my Firefox configs off of it, but, yeah, there's no way I'm building over a USB connection lol.

11/23 is up and running.

It took me all last night and this morning/afternoon to get everything ironed out, but it's finally done. There were changes to both Firefox and 7zip that I had to catch up on and make the appropriate changes to my config as needed. So, um yeah, I'm back. Thanks to everyone who's remained patient with me during this chaotic time.

ouch ya that would take forever and a day.

Glad to see your back up and running.

Glad to see that you're back up and running :D, not sure if this has been asked yet in this thread (76 pages long :o), but are there any guides floating around for building your own firefox, and would using the SSE3 instructions give any performance change?

As for building your own Firefox, you can look at the link below. Right now, I don't think any compilers support sse3 building.

http://gemal.dk/mozilla/build.html

That link was the one that got me started way back when I used GCC to compile.

If you have a modern CPU such as the one in my sig (it beats a 2.6ghz P4 so its modern) then do you actually notice the difference in rendering speed or is it just to know its the fastest it can be?

bangbang023: Do you plan to continue to build trunk even thought now its going on to 3.0 release? There will be another branch off the branch as soon as TB 1.5 is released and that branch will go onto 2.0

Probably. I've always enjoyed staying on the bleeding edge and there are A LOT of branch builders anyway.
