xxxxxx.xxxxxx
Now theres a point, didnt ever think of that before... 1k+ Desktop with a magnet in the side of it :/ Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/192078-your-mac-hardware-setup/page/79/#findComment-586770359 Share on other sites
bontakun
lcd's are unaffected by magnets, and i would assume they would put the harddrive on the opposite corner of the magnet, otherwise there is no real problem with having a magnet on a computer Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/192078-your-mac-hardware-setup/page/79/#findComment-586770851 Share on other sites
+StevoFC MVC Posted November 5, 2005 MVC Share Posted November 5, 2005 plus that remote is so light. it doesn't take a strong magnet at all to hold it. MonkeyClaw Veteran Posted November 5, 2005 Veteran Share Posted November 5, 2005 right like in the powerbook and ibook, there is a weak magnet that pulls the latch down for the screen. Timan Veteran Posted November 5, 2005 Veteran Share Posted November 5, 2005 The magnet is so weak if you push on the remote it slides off), but it stays up there nicely. You can also use the remote in, QT, iTunes, DVD Player, Preview/iPhoto (slideshow) all work great. Matt T
My second iMac arrived this morning.Did not expect to get it till monday. Thing is much faster than the Rev A iMac's ... More Photos 586767064 Timan, do you find the iSight distracting at all? Personally I think that is a design flaw - surely Apple could of made the iSight white so it didn't clash with the iMac's otherwise sleek and stylish design. Timan Veteran Posted November 6, 2005 Veteran Share Posted November 6, 2005 tbh you don't really notice it, and when you do it looks ok, looks like its supposed to be there. Only problem with it, I can not figure out how to focus it, was trying to scan a few items in Delicious Library but I couldn't focus on the bar codes. .Neo
Okay, thanks. 586772591 I think it has to be black. Wouldn't the space around the camera itself reflect too much light if it has the same white color as the iMac? Anyway just a thought. MonkeyClaw Veteran Posted November 6, 2005 Veteran Share Posted November 6, 2005 thats what i was thinking neowave, sort of like any camera you see (dig or film) has a black aperture so i guess this isn't any different. .Neo
Yeah I guess they could have done something like that, personally I can't be bothered with it. :) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/192078-your-mac-hardware-setup/page/79/#findComment-586774522 Share on other sites

divinatum
I think it depends on its location & shielding if a magnet can be used. On the older iSights the mount has a magnet in it and its RIGHT next to the harddrive. So it must depend on the shielding they use Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/192078-your-mac-hardware-setup/page/79/#findComment-586778388 Share on other sites

Syphonic
Wierd that I post my hardware, showing the replacement to the K700i (K750i/W800i) and nobody even bats an eyelid... K700i is really old by today's mobile standards...dunno why people would complement you on it...
